Septiezal nodded in agreement. "Yes he will." He looked down at the stone in his claw. That same protective urge filled him as well. He wanted to coil around it until it hatched. I'd die for this gemling. He thought. Strangely, he was ok with that. As a matter of fact, it gave him a warm fuzzy feeling deep in his gut. It was a feeling Septiezal had never experienced before.
At first, he was hesitant to hand it over, but a loud snap from the thicket drove him to sense danger. He snapped is head towards it and flicked his tongue. He could taste as strange scent. There was definitely someone there, watching them. A low hiss rose in his throat. "Here, take it, quickly." He urged Phelgethon, hold it out to him. "I won't let them follow."
Septiezal reared high. Half his body was off the ground, posed to strike. "Alright!" The serpent hissed. "I know you're in there, come out, or I'll set your hidey-hole ablaze!"
