Don't you ever tame your demons
But always keep 'em on a leash
Kerberos listened because he had to. He was prowling forward slowly, and her words came harsh in his ears because he gave her the time to change her mind and back off and instead she spoke. The heads to either side looked at the middle head as she singled out a single head-- Kerberos realized she was talking to just one part of him.
He had three parts, three heads. Most creatures, in fact, every creature he had met so far, only had one head. He had taken this for granted up until now, but it was true-- they thought independently, although similarly, on everything. He spoke to himself and he acted on three wavelengths at once. It was... Weird.
His thoughts spun, each brain independent from one another.
And so, while the others watched him, his body still moved forward, his middle head cocking to one side as he approached, carefully. He didn't want to miss his pounce, not this time.
