Panic. Wild, uncontrolled panic.
A flurry of black wings and red feathers scrambled through Canis, exhaustion setting into the frantic, desperate bird. She practically collapsed, a fish skull clattering on the dusty, dry floor of the bone room.
Bevy shuttered, getting to her feet. She didn't want to but she forced herself to look at her talons, where spores had begun to sprout and fungi had spread up her legs. Hundreds of tiny dots and wide, spongy heads of fleshy, hungry mushrooms. Her stomach did somersaults looking at it, so she forced herself to look away. She grabbed the fish bone-- which was bigger than her own head-- and took flight again. She had to clutch the skull with both talons to carry it at all, and it was part of the reason why the flight had been so taxing.
She was struggling, but she found her way, finally, to the bone pile. She plopped down again, gasping for breath. Her wings tucked into her body and she looked up, glancing around at her surroundings. Where was Giggle? Urgh. Last time she had come to Canis looking for Aza'zel, she couldn't find it. Would she be unable to find Giggle now that she needed her?
and I am in them and that is eternity.
