In the center of the room stood a chrysalis and inside was a small dhole. She was getting too big for the thing now and she was starting to get uncomfortable. So with a bit of effort she pushed and kicked until it cracked and soon after she was freed. She stood herself up and looked around herself. This room was strange, this place was strage and she wondered where she was. Valora let out a large silent yawn and stretched herself out before beginning to move around. She didn't know exactly where she was but she wanted to have a look around. Maybe she could speak to someone and figure out where she was exactly. Her soft pink eyes roamed the roomed as she padded slowly. This place fasinated her. There was so much she didn't know and she wanted to learn about it all. Still her first priority was to find someone and then after she had spoken to them she might take her time to explore the area. Whoever she met if she managed to meet someone could probably answer a lot of her questions. Like who did all these bones belong to, where she was. She knew she was in some sort of cave. She could recall that memory fondly while she was inside her chrysalis but where in the cave she was and how big the cave was she had no idea on.

Ashtoreth was doing her usual. The reigning group of Canis, The Bonebound, was kicked into some kind of fuss, and she could have gotten involved-- she was family, and what was their problem was her problem too-- but frankly, she felt like she would just get in the way. So she was distracting herself, as her whole life was a crash course in disassociation and scrambling over any possible diversion to keep her mind off of things.

This involved anything from chasing down cave mice, practicing her magic, and taking dust baths and naps in quiet shadowed corners, but today, she was scrambling through piles of bones, sending them clattering about. She had half a mind to pay attention to how they fell, and also to make sure that she didn't see anything that set off alarm bells that she should stop, but for the most part, the noise and action kept her senses diverged from the usual trappings.

She was charging through a stretch of spare ribs and other miscellaneous bones when she spotted a young gembound picking through the area with fresh pink eyes, and immediately she slammed on the breaks. One paw slipped on a small, eroded bone and she fell flat on her face, her back end flipping her end over end. She landed on her back in a flutter of orange-dusted feathers in front of the dhole, eyes wide.

I meant to do that, she thought, her feathers fluffing as she scrambled up to her feet and neatly folded her wings in at her flank. She perked her ears at the stranger, and tilted her head curiously at them. They seemed young-- maybe a new hatchling?

Listen to me + Hear my thoughts

Valora continued to walk slowly making sure she looked around everywhere. She stopped however when a strange gembound came sprinting at her but had tripped up and ended up flipping over until they landed in front of her. She stared at the gembound before slowly opening her mouth to ask if they were okay. Her mouth stayed ajar but no sound came out. Valora closed it again and placed her paw against her throat. She stood confused not sure what was happening. She opened her mouth to speak again but still no sound came out. She stared at the creature and gave it a nervous smile before shaking her head. No, she just hadn't learned how to talk yet. She hadn't got her voice yet. She would find her voice eventually, she had to.

Now she wasn't sure what to do. She couldn't talk...yet. She couldn't talk yet. She would talk! She would get her voice. She had to but right now she had no voice. She couldn't give her name to him or ask him how he was or communicate to him in any way. What was she to do? Valora slowly moved to him and gave him a few sniffs before looking around. She was trying to work out a way to show him. The only thing she could think of was nodding her head then shaking her head followed with a small tilt of her head. She doubted he would understand her but at this point what else could she do? Valora sat herself down and let out a silent sigh. How long would it take to get her voice?
