ORIGIN - I AM A BEING OF ABSOLUTE CHAOS!

Esther was now completely fully grown now, fully into their legs. Long.. Spindly and weird looking, though Esther really liked how they looked. Their legs could only be compared to that of a gazelle, long, thin, and didn't look like it could even hold the maned wolf up, despite it being completely possible. They wandered through the place called Eridanus, where they had been lurking for a short time. After being yelled at by the bird for trying to catch things on fire, they couldn't help but come back to the place. The backdrop they were moving through green, and covered in plants. It was warm.

Yawning, the tall canine weaved through the plants and brush that covered everything. This entire place was flammable- flammable and Esther was interested in that. Esther was very much a pyro. A pyro that was looking to catch something on fire. And maybe there was a lot of plants here that could do it, but Esther wanted something specific. Dry, and easy to burn and spread the flame. Even if the flame wouldn't spread that far.

Walking through the lands, Esther wanted some kind of plant or wood that was dry.

Spotting something in the distance, Esther used their long legs to sprint after it. Finding a stick of sorts that was dry, the canine picked it up in their chompers and carried it to a small spot that was not covered in the brush that was on everything else. The colorful maned wolf strutted forward to place the stick down on that flat patch of grass- which had been Esther's waiting place moments before, flattened from the creature laying atop of it.

Esther's plan was going to come into fruition one of these days. They wanted to create a large fire big enough to be called an ocean one day. One day in the future.

Esther sat in front of the stick, paw going ablaze, burning their pawpad once again, and singing some of the fur there, only to be placed on the stick. The branch started to go ablaze, and eventually started producing black smoke that went above.

Brothers aren't simply close,

His family was gone.

Gonegonegonegonegone.

Gone, nowhere to be found.

He'd look, look and looked and looked, and couldn't find them anywhere. Had looked everywhere he could, everywhere he could possibly imagine them being, and yet they were nowhere, no matter how far and hard and long he looked.

And he didn't, yet, leave Eridanus. He'd found the hummingwolf's chyrsalis, and what if Blackberry came for it? The goose's scent was long gone, only the faintest of scents mixed in with his brother's in their garden and oh that made him fear!

So, again, he reached out through the plants, hoping, praying, that he'd see someone that he knew.

Brothers aren't simply close,

And... he did.

He didn't know them, but he saw someone.

A long legged someone, if he wasn't paying so much attention he would have thought they were Enka and, oh, how he missed his poor daughter. He flicked his ears but, maybe? they would know where his family was, so he coiled his legs and leaped into the trees, bounding along them with the ease that came to every one of his species, slipping from branch to branch as he headed to where the plants had told him the Gembound was.

He smelled smoke.

The hair along his spine stood on end, and he fought down a growl. Peering down from the branches, little more than pin-prick ambers in the shadows, he stared at the... what even was that? as smoke curled up from the twig they set their paw on.

He twitched his ears, dropping his jaw without thinking and spraying water down on the branch, expecting pain, only to find the tepid water soothing on his painful throat. "You shouldn't play with fire until you can put it out," he rasped.

Esther's ears caught the sound of the other creature before his voice caught up to their ears. They were far more focused on the fire in front of them, the stick that would burn out eventually if they didn't find anything else to put atop the flame. Of course this place was absolutely covered in things to add to it, so that wouldn't be an issue for the maned wolf. Esther's paw was just about toasted by now, but they were used to the feeling at that point. It hurt, but it wasn't bad. Just a warm heat that was always there now, but the fur on their paw was singed once again. It wouldn't grow back correctly if the creature kept using that spell like they did. Alas, Esther wasn't going to stop using it anytime soon.

They did turn to face the feline when he mentioned not playing with fire until they were able to put it out. Esther didn't care about putting fires out, they only wanted to see things burn. It was basically the canine's lifeline at this point- watching the flames engulf whatever it could get ahold of. A wonderful sight.

"I don't need to know how to put them out, only how to start them." The maned wolf spoke, standing up at their full height to face the dark feline.

The panther stared down from where he stood on the tree, a very cat-like expression of irritation obvious on his face. This pup... he wished he could say he could see himself in it, but he couldn't. Rift had found him when he was very, very young, and had been so hesitant over his fire magic that he'd learned to be wary of it as well.

This one, though, seemed to adore it. He remembered facing off against his brother, so angry he'd lost control, smoke rolling off his fur. Remembered losing control such that the forest had burned. And this pup dared to say it didn't need to know to tend its fires, only to stare them.

He fought a growl, twitched his ears back, "A fire out of control is a devastating thing. It can hurt others, even kill them. And it will not distinguish its caster, either. If you don't know how to put out your fires, they will consume you as well." His burnt fur was proof of that.
