Ruby-Beta was mostly right--Vargas wouldn't have torn him apart. It wasn't in his power to remake a creature, anyway. Not like that. But it was a warning, fairly-given, in his mind: it could, and did, happen.

It had happened to Raheerah only a cycle or two ago. But Ruby-Beta's words were right; like Alpha it appeared dutiful and obedient, and this was good.

"No. Go on, then. I will watch for your improvement."

With that the Overseer turned, taking one leap on top of a nearby building, before striding out of sight into the ruins beyond.

Ruby-Beta stood still as it watched Vargas go, waiting until he was out of sight before it just...slumped on the ground. Tired. Man, that was a whole-ass workout. Maybe it would rest here for a little while before starting on its tasks, find something to eat, take another nap, and then maybe sometime tomorrow it would start training. A little.

And, in the exact place it had been standing a moment ago, with its legs splayed out almost comically in a spread-eagle position, Ruby-Beta fell right to sleep, gentle snores rising from its slumbering form.
