The Bonebound's venture back to Canis had been quiet, achingly uneventful. His own voice failed him without the distraction of cleansing and healing some of the remnants of the Hive that'd been leftover, scattered into the mists. Tunnel K's shroud hadn't helped matters, the clinging humidity and chills down his spine altogether too raw and fresh in his mind. There wasn't any lunch to lose, but Aure'd fluttered up to his father's cairn nonetheless and laid alongside the chrysalis blooming there.
Sandwiched between its girth and half-preserved wings, the young King'd roiled in his overcharged queue of - thoughts. He hadn't cried, but there was a fair amount of dry heaving. Aure could find comfort, at least, in knowing that no one had died and that at least one part of that infection had been destroyed.
And... that it was up to them to root other parts of it out - not as violently as Astraea had.
Swallowing, gathering himself up, Aure shoved aside the thunderhead brewing in his mind and stood. Bright eyes almost automatically drifted to his talons as he drifted forwards, off the edge of the cliff leading to Aza'zel's cairn, and towards his mother's den.
The scent of familiar, harmless (relatively) fungus was calming almost immediately.
He peeked in, sniffing once for his mother, calling softly,
