Vargas rumbled in thought, six eyes slipping shut as he relaxed into the now pus-laden water--and then they snapped open, to the entrance, as he remembered to actually keep watch for the dragon.

"Try it, but not now. Save your strength for now. I would teach you the magic I used, but it is difficult--very difficult--and very unreliable. That's the first time I've managed it since I've awoken in this age," he added.

Vargas turned and craned his head, peering at Alpha's wounds. "Submit to sleep if you must. The stone will heal your wounds." His own burns were nothing to laugh at, and he winced again at his own movement; vaguely, briefly, he considered returning to his stone, himself.

He grimaced, and hissed out a long exhale.

The Overseer called upon his own magicka, but it seemed that that which had eluded Alpha went to him (to a precise numerical amount, in fact), washing over him and soothing the pain. He slumped back, some, six toxic eyes again slipping closed (and again reopening as he yet again remembered to keep watch) with the relief. "Otherwise, do you know how to release your magicka to heal the worst of it?" he asked, looking to his creation--unaware that it had royally fucked up exactly that.

@Orthoclase-Alpha
"... not now."

Alpha noticed that it'd been hoping, for once, to not have to demonstrate its abilities - especially ones apparently as newfound as this one. It wasn't even certain that it'd been at fault for the misfire of magic on the dragon's end. A soft grunt of acknowledgement rose from it, but not much else.

"Submit to sleep if you must."

The orthoclase closed its eyes at that, but not to fall into that slumber. As much as it sought escape, solace from the searing sensation, it wasn't one to run. It hated fleeing. Despised feeling like this, even if it was a spoil of war and combat. Claws flexed and curled into the water. That rock was the only thing that'd hit Dread. Nothing of its own. It let the light in again.

What a thing to fixate on.

"I can take it," it groaned, extending a middle limb and twisting to flick water on its right side. Alpha closed its eyes once more, reaching this time for magic. "I was over here using that magic, I think." As if on cue, nothing happened.

It dropped its head back in the water with a frustrated, then wincing, sigh.

@Vargas

Vargas grunted, and pushed up again. He shook himself briefly, quills rattling, to shake off the water--and grimaced.

He fired a glance at Alpha.

"If you're not going into your stone, rest here. I'll watch the tunnel. How he got out, I don't know," he added irritably.

He did not move in graceful leaps and bounds, but stiff, hissing steps, wincing now and again.

Fire burned.

Ugh.

@Orthoclase-Alpha
It nodded the affirmative, keeping its head down and exhaling harshly. The water was starting to lose its soothing cool (or was Alpha getting used to it?) and it shifted back to its other side, exposing green-slicked hide to the air again.

The orthoclase tried again to at least heal that, but wound up grimacing and hissing again with the strain.

Maybe... sleep was necessary.

Acidic eyes did a wary once-over of the cave, and slipped shut into restless sleep.
