In the furthest reaches of Eridanus, right where the cave opens to Tunnel I, there was a small black chrysalis. It was sitting on the edge of the entrance to the cave, a barely noticeable thing. Indeed, the gembound inside must be quite small.

Life is strange. When you don't have a clue what's going on, all you can see is darkness and all you feel is cramped. That's how Void was feeling at the moment, the small ungulate feeling frustrated by whatever it was that was keeping her trapped.

"Let.. me.. out!" she bayed, knocking a cloven hoof against the wall of her chrysalis. The form of it, black as night from the inside, gave a crack. Light began to peer through, and Void was encouraged. She let out a bleat, slamming her hoof against the chrysalis once more.

Another crack. Good.

With all her might, she tried once more to break open the shell surrounding her. She gave a powerful kick to the confines of this hell, and felt the chrysalis give way to her. As quickly as she had kicked, she was free, and her small and fuzzy body was laid out flat on the ground - she hadn't expected to tumble out.

Lifting her head, she looked around her at the mosses.

"Speech."

The little demon was quite happy with her hatching. The area she had been born into was full of life sustenance for her - plenty of grasses and mosses awaited her tender bite. Her teeth biting into everything close to her, she chewed as her pink eyes scanned the horizon.

She wondered, vaguely, what sort of place she was born to. She looked down upon herself, noting that her right cloven hoof was different than the rest - that a sparkly red gem had replaced the hoof itself entirely. Lifting her hoof to her face, she sniffed it. Wondering what it could be.

Her teeth tried to nibble, but they were too flat to do much of anything. With a shrug, she put her hoof back down and bleated out, "Hellooooooo?" Her voice echoed, the strange sound of a sheep's bleat mixed with common tongue.

The sound echoed around her, and her calculating eyes watched. Waiting. Better eat some more. she thought as she turned down and began to nibble on the grasses once more. It wouldn't be long now, she'd find someone soon enough.

"Speech."
