ORIGIN

He had remained near the source since he had awaken, fitful dreams of a large, veined creature tearing through the glass and iron of a city...

He startled awake, the sounds of screams and thunder bubbling away from his conscious...

It was HOT inside his belly, his chest—and then he expelled a force of fire that incinerated the area surrounding him; but it quickly sizzled out. Fleeting images danced in his mind of the city the giant monster had razed: and so he tried again...!

And sure enough, again, he had caused a large explosion and the fire inside of him was hot and strong: he could feel himself outwardly glowing, beaming with pride, standing triumphant in the embers of his effort.

But he was just a little guy...

"I AM LAM," he announced, pointing his nose upward with his shoulders squared. "LAM THE SECOND!" Yeah! He only stood two feet tall at the shoulder, and about five feet long head to rump—but he was STRONG.

His beady eyes looked up, legs scrambling beneath him as he sized the steep wall of the Hole; his conversation earlier had not been forgotten. He was HUNGRY. But also, he was stuck. How was he going to get out?

"AAA!!" he screamed, blasting fire upward from his spot with his claws digging into the ground beneath.

But the fire made it hot, a current of air swirling around him; ah, yes, he could use this! Scrabbling up the wall with all of its legs, the small creature dug into the sides with its sharp claws then turned, aiming its fire downward: a tornado of flame blast downward, and Lam II was lifted up and out of the Hole.

Halfway up, he did another, just to secure his exit...

The ignition spit him up and out of the Hole; he landed unceremoniously with a splat before quickly righting himself and snarling at absolutely nothing. He was here! His lips pulled back and his jaw cracked opened, smoky remnants of his escape billowing out. As his insides cooled, he looked around frantically, then' as soon as he appeared, he scurried off into the darkness.
