OOC: Investigating the golems. Throw enough characters in and we can have a GOLEM RAID? WHO KNOWS! TAKE PART NOW :D
Usui continued his trek through Polaris. Flaps of skin hung by his stomach and around his limbs as the lion picked up his pace, jogging towards an area that he had not explored before. He knew that many golems roamed here and he wanted to investigate the situation. Why were they running rampant? This, the green eyed youth couldn't understand. It wasn't as though the golems had a lack of minerals or gems to latch onto. New gemborns had continued to appear sporadically so it was definitely very odd. He wondered if he might also sniff out clues of the creature useless Aquarian had told him about. Keeping his haunches squared and footfalls steady upon the ground, the lion continued to slink past several rocks, attempting not to get too close to any golem even though he was pretty much convinced they were blind.

Bayard had not yet left Polaris, having decided to stick around and explore more of his birth place. In fact, he took his new job so seriously, that he had vowed to explore every little nook and cranny of Origin Cave if he could. He had no idea what he would do with this information, but he knew exploring and studying were in his nature. He understood that he was extremely curious about things. And there was absolutely nothing wrong with that, as long as he was careful. But, of course, he was only a cycle old. He couldn’t be so self-aware all the time, and his insatiable curiosity about the world could very well get him hurt one day…
He was flying over the Crystal River one day, not long after his birth, when he spotted a familiar form up ahead, near some sort of… crumbling wall. Hmm. He wondered what that wall was. It seemed to have once been quite tall, and was stretched out across the river itself. Why would someone want to put a wall in the middle of the river? Wouldn’t that stop it from flowing? Was there a point to that? He shook his head, focusing once again on Usui, and was about to let out a caw of greeting when he noticed how oddly his friend was behaving. The lion was bobbing and weaving and ducking behind plants and rocks. Why? Was he hiding from something?
Bayard circled overhead silently. If his friend was hiding from something, it would be bad to call attention to him. He looked up at the dam again, and that’s when he consciously noticed all the golems for the first time. Of course, he had known they were there all the time, but he’d gotten so used to their faraway presence (it was his first time approaching the river) that he hadn’t really noticed them now that he was so close to them. For the first time, he realized how humongous they were, and there was a tinge of fear mixed into the curiosity now…
Wondering what to do now, and afraid to land near Usui in case he frightened him or drew attention to him, he finally realized he could do something to get Usui’s attention without alerting the Golems. He could use Magic! Now, of course, any Gembound who had had an encounter with a Golem before knew that using Magic in their presence was an awful idea, because it attracted them to you like moths to a flame. Buy Bayard had no knowledge of such things. And had he known, he never would have done it. But he didn’t know. He assumed he was being smart – not cocky – just smart. He was trying to do things stealthily. How was he supposed to know he may have just endangered their lives? So, with a deep breath, he flapped his wings hard in the direction of Usui, and watched as, a few seconds later, the Gust of wind ruffled the lion’s fur. And he smiled in his cleverness…
The lion kept his body low to the ground, crouching with great control, limbs half-bent at angles to ease his movements while granting him the ability to have muffled footfalls as he moved between rocks. He weaved his way through the terrain fluidly, streamlined body curving sharply and smoothly when needed. One of his concerns was that the golems might trace the movements of his stone, and so the youth wanted to avoid unnecessary jerky movements. Usui felt a familiar feeling settle over his fur then and saw something moving to his side. He turned to face the curious object and was extremely pleased to spy Makyna and her waving tail. He smiled and shook his head, as though to convey her silliness in a playful manner, then flagged and curled his own tail in response. Yes, it’d be a hunt. A golem hunt. He wanted to understand why they had gathered in such a large bunch and what better day than today huh.
The cub was distracted and so did not notice Bayard till he felt a deliberate breeze brush over his shoulder. Usui whipped his head up and followed the landing movements of the raven. "Hey young one,” he smiled and bent his head low to snuff at the raven tenderly. And then… an all too familiar threat rang out. Immediately, the lion brought himself back into a defensive position and whispered urgently, authority in his tone. "SHHHHH you’ll disturb the golems and what did I say about making eating threats,”.He noted that the fluffy puppy had grown even as he did, but his growth spurt definitely outweighed his. Who knew how big this three headed thing would be? Usui glanced towards Makyna, then Bayard and finally Kerberos. He decided the dog didn’t have ill-intentions. So, he spoke carefully to all of them. "Lots of golems have gathered, I don’t know why, and we’re going to investigate. No unnecessary sounds or movements, okay Bayard and Kerberos?” He smiled at them, more caught up with his current mission than to ponder about the previous misunderstanding with Kerberos. He’d always welcome him back as his pupil if he was ever willing to learn. Usui then turned around and looked at the bunch of golems, observing what they were doing. His tail remained high and curled over. He’d give a flick should they need to move out. For now, he had to understand what the golems were up to.
OOC: I've requested for a GM to tell us what the golems are doing (:
