The start of the journey into the Tunnel seemed alright enough, the cool air from where he was led him further into the Tunnel but as he reaches the middle he can feel the heat from whatever is at the other end.

He feels apprehensive suddenly, like there's something dangerous beyond the swirling dust devils and strong winds. They interfere with his nose and he squints as the sand stings his eyes.

He wonders if he should turn back, there's probably more places to leave from if he returns to the big room he was in.

He keeps his head down and ears forward, just in case something comes from ahead of him and he doesn't let his treasure out of his mouth.

@cryogen
the foal had been wandering for ages, its wobbly, new and unsteady horse legs not doing much to make it any easier.
the foal had been struggling to really do anything for a while, wandering away from hydra, growing more fearful of its contents. as cryogen wandered, however, it had circled back to a tunnel connected to it. how odd.

as it spotted the young coyote it froze. not for long, however, as the foal approached him with a curious sniff. "you. who are you?" it huffed

@Daryl

He jumps, startled by the presence of a new creature. He says nothing when it speaks to him but places his treasure down on the ground, careful and protective of it.

He eyes it carefully and then looks beyond it, sniffing in the direction of the heat and wind. This thing seems scared, maybe he won't go in that direction.

He sits down, a show of ease and relaxation as he begins chewing on his treasure. He wonders briefly if he can speak. He's never tried, maybe he can. Then he loses interest in that train of thought as he eyes the new...thing in front of him.

It looks...strange, even by his limited experience of the world.

@Cryogen
cryogen isnt really offended by being ignored, but watches the coyote with interest. it observes the bone from a distance, but leaves it alone.

it wobbles and sits down, tilting its head.
When he sees it isn't going to approach him more, isn't going to take his treasure, is only going to lay across from him, he thinks maybe it's ok. He pauses in his chewing, mouth open around the knuckle of the bone, and then he spits it out, licking his lips.

"Daryl." He states simply, voice gravelly and deep from disuse, before going back to chewing, eyes never leaving the creature. He eyes its horns, curious but unsure how to ask about them. He's never seen something like it before. Though, to be fair, he's not seen a lot of things.

He pauses again, considering something silently, then returns to chewing, opting to say nothing more.
the horse(?) nodded, happy to just sit there in silence with its.. new friend? hm. it never had one of those before. does this daryl even count? unsure, it opted to just introduce itself aswell. "cryogen." it nodded, tilting its head.
