ORIGIN

Mevoh was busy eating a poisonous snake she caught on her own on the throne in Orion. Orion was one of her favorite places to go to. It had old buildings that clearly hinted at civilization being here once. And the glistening stones in the ceilings above were simply marvelous. The young bird wondered what lore was behind this cave. But she was completely unaware of the truth this cave held. As she ate she imgained what life was like when this city in Orion was alive. But she would find out. She would find out no matter what. She decided to use hindsight on the throne. Her magic was working as she used her magic on the throne. And a vision appeared in her mind.

The thing about the Throne was that its back was tall, broad, and the ideal perch for dragons looking to survey the whole of Orion. It wasn't like Svartis was equipped with the means to immediately sense all circulatory systems in the cave he was in; and it wasn't like he'd manage to use that in tandem with his magical invisibility cloak.

A thing about reflectivity was that it failed to account for the WHUMPF! WHUMPF! WHUMPF! of draconic wings flapping or the various differences in Orion's horizon. If someone was glancing at him, they might've missed him swooping down to land on the back of the Throne, but he was... definitely present, up-close.

Up-close like Mevoh, just trying to eat her dinner, still unnoticed.

Icy eyes gazed out across Orion, completely oblivious as he rested his wings for a moment, completely coated in an imitation of the starry ceiling above.

Mevoh finished her meal finally. But with her excellent eyesight she noticed something large behind her. She squawked loudly, seeing that whatever was behind her was huge. It looked like a large dragon of some sort. Mevoh spoke loudly to the large beast behind her. "Excuse me! Who are you and why are you looming over me on the back of the this throne?! Do you not know of personal space?! You could have at least let me know you were there!" Mevoh puffed her feathers out in surprise. She narrowed her eyes at whoever was behind her. The thing looked like the ceiling of Orion. She wondered what this dragon looked like. She could see from the outline that it was some sort of dragon.

Svartis jolted, claws curling around the Throne tighter as he hunched over cat-like. His fins snapped out as his camouflage wore off, revealing his sleek, black form and glowing, icy eyes. He stared down at the bird, wide-eyed, "oh - sorry!"

With a few flaps of his mighty wings and twist of his tail, he ended up on the other side of the platform leading up to the throne, deliberately crouching to maintain polite eye-level. It didn't make him any smaller. "I didn't see you sitting there - I came in from the back." Oh, wait, she asked me who I was - "I'm Svartis. I just came from Monoceros, over there," he tossed his head towards the tunnel.

He stared back at Mevoh, intent, but asking politely, "and you are...?"

Mevoh calmed down completely. This dragon had manners, thank goodness. Her feathers became normal as she looked at the dragon. Her gaze softened. This dragon was large and dangerous looking, but kind. So, she decided to be kind back, which was a rarity. Her tone was kind. "It's alright. You're forgiven. My name is Mevoh, I'm a secretary bird. I see you're a dragon. So, Svartis, what are you doing here in Orion?" Mevoh looked at the dragon kindly.

Svartis was too soft to just flaunt around his being-a-dragon-ness, to be honest. Not that Mevoh knew that.

He wasn't sure what there was to be forgiven for, but his head bobbed up and down at the name. Mevoh was no Dread, but it was a good name nonetheless. The dragon tilted his head slightly at the mention of some species of bird, but nodded again: "yep, a dragon - I don't know anything about secretaries, though. Just birds in... general."

Icy eyes blinked, and he shrugged slightly, "just going for an evening flight, maybe catch something different." Svartis shifted, looking at the snake on the throne, "looks like you had the same idea. Is that a snake?"
