Mevoh was taking a drink of one of the two pools called the eyes. She was busy trying to find out the lore of the caves. She wanted to know her heritage, and would find out one way or another. She needed to use her hindsight powers on anything and everything that looked important. As she drank all she could think about was the hidden history of these caves. She knew the masters like Astraea knew everything there was to know. She wondered why her superiors did not want to share what they knew. But they were the masters of these caves, and it wasn't her place to make them tell her. So she would just find out on her own.

Pip was currently in Eridanus, a bright blue flower, nearly as large as her, in her grasp. It was tough work, and her scarf dragged along the dirt, but it was smaller than the flowers of the room she'd hatched in. When Morpho saw it they'd be excited too! It'd help Morpho look even more like a tree, in her mind. All plant bits were basically the same.

Pip paused near a pool of water, deep and bright, and puzzled how she'd get across. Something shifted not far from her. She'd dismissed it at first as a white tree. But she realized quickly--it wasn't a tree. It was a gembound! A cat, as far as she knew. A tall cat with two legs. Cats came with two legs, right?

"Oh!" Pip began. "Hello cat! I'm Pip!" Had she not been carrying a plant, Pip would've hopped in excitement. It wasn't every day she met another gembound, and she could barely contain her excitement. "Are you from around here? Im not--I found this cool plant bit though! It's for my friend!" She held up the flower to Mevoh. Pip herself was blissfully unaware of the masters that consumed Mevoh's thoughts, save the strange owlbeast. Pip's mind and thoughts were unabashedly simple.

Mevoh heard the voice of someone small, and insignificant. She looked down and saw a mantis of some sort near her feet. Mevoh had to keep from laughing at how small this gembound was. But then she got annoyed that this bug thought that she was a cat. She rolled her eyes before speaking, then looked down at the bug with her excellent eyesight. "You're a complete joke of a gembound. I am no cat. I am a secretary bird, one of the greatest birds of prey to exist. I don't care for the thing you have. I could eat you, you know. But the fact you are a gembound saved your life. I don't eat other gembounds. Goodbye, you little speck." Mevoh scoffed and flew off, not wanting to deal with this tiny insect.
