Silence broke as a rock shifted to the side. Small fish scattered from their hiding place beneath. By the time they settled again the rock tilted once more, a little further this time.
The slow shifting continued for a while, sending little ripples and waves to ruffle the surface of the pond the rock was placed in.
Push!
Unknown to the world a creature lied within, fighting her way out slowly but surely. She would keep trying.

Elias was in the ponds, still. The gator finding himself sticking around in the place for it suited his needs well. Fish to be eaten, water to wade in. Everything a gator would need. Except for the fact because of his coloring, he faced not being seen through the rocks and pebbles in the place. Like before, when he fought with that big green glowy thing with feathers in this very place. Elias was still angry about that. He lost, but he survived but he didn't think the large thing was trying to kill him in the first place.

As he wandered through the place, something caught his eye. A chrysalis. Elias had never seen one here before, though he could have been blind to it. He watched it move, eyes blinking as it stopped, and then went again. Clearly something was trying to get out, but couldn't. He thought about helping, but then again, if they couldn't get out it just meant they'd not survive in this place, would they?

"You can come out." The gator noted, wondering if encouragement would cause whatever was inside to come out and breathe their first breath of semi-fresh air. Perhaps.

Directly following the gator's words, the chrysalis stopped still for a moment. Had it given up? It shifted very slowly to one side again, this time not even startling the fish nearby it as the water rippled.
As soon as it stopped, it moved again, violently throwing itself forward. Despite the water muffling the sound, the cracking of the chrysalis was audible. It took a few more shakes and kicks at the cocoon but eventually...
Wet.
A Gembound emerged, shaky at the legs. She was a bit large for a pup but small nonetheless, sending herself face first into the pond after trying to shake the water from her paws.
Wet.
She may have had only one thought, but it was a conscious thought at least. She had yet to see the gator who woke her.

When he spoke, the chrysalis stopped moving. Baring a resemblance to how it was before when it spooked the fish. Though those fish didn't move this time. Least the fish wouldn't stay away long even having been spooked, they always came back in their groups to stick to one specific place each time. Almost like sheep, he mused. The thing shook again, and then the chrysalis was broken, a small thing splashing into the pool in front of them. A red creature, bathed in some other colors. Now soaked in water, their fur was dripping.

Surely that wasn't the kind of creature that stuck within water?

"Are you going to just sit there?" He questioned at the small thing. Did it like the water? Elias knew some would like water, despite not being built to live in it. Maybe this was one of those.

Sound? Where?
The young one spun around twice before spotting a creature much larger than herself. She wasn't sure what to make of it.
Sharp.
She wasn't sure if the thought came from looking at the teeth or horn-shaped gem, but she did know that it made her heart race.
Still wet.
The distraction was a welcome one as she shook off her coat, falling right back into the water with the force of it. She wished the wet would just go away.
Sharp is dry?
She looked over at the gator again, tilting her head and moving a few tiny step closer after standing again. She wondered if the Sharp One could make her dry too. An urge came to the front of her mind, one she could not yet understand as she opened her mouth and pushed air through a part of her throat she had just discovered.

"Help?" The word came out hushed and high pitched. Though she didn't fully understand just what the word meant, it felt fitting.

The small thing shook out its fur and splashed the water everywhere. Elias didn't mind - he rather liked water and lived in it anyway. Spending most of his time within said water. Though the small pup did not look as amused with it as he did. It was true that Elias had sharp teeth, and the horn on the tip of his nose. Though he didn't use those often - not hitting anything with his gemstone at all either. His teeth were sharp to hunt, and that generally was the only thing he used them for. Except for that one time when he fought with big angry. He still didn't know the name of that thing, but he wasn't sure he wanted to anyway.

When the small thing asked for help, Elias moved forward to pick the small thing up with his snout.

"Get out of the water." He huffed. If the thing wanted to be dry, how could it if it was still within the pools? It couldn't. Elias snaked his way through the water before tossing the thing off of him when they hit the land. Fish streaking passed his legs as he walked.

Eyes wide as the sharp one scooped her up and plopped her onto land, she was still as she processed the event. But she was on dry now. She wasn't dry yet, but she was on the dry... She dropped to her belly and rolled around, trying to get the dry to stick to her. While the logic was flawed, it did get a lot of the water out of her pelt.

"Thank Sharp!" She called out as she jumped up, nearly smacking the gator's chin as she did so. The thought of sharp didn't make her heart race this time. It was a good thought, she was sure.
Now... Thirsty?
Despite having just escaped the wet, she wiggled towards it again crouched low to the ground. She didn't want to have the dry taken from her. Pinning her ears back in distaste, the pup submerged her entire head in the water again and opened her mouth, managing to swallow twice before coming back up for air. She shook her head to try and clear her waterlogged ears, again losing focus on the sharp one.

She thanked him, in which Elias offered a grunt in return. The little canine seemed to like the water, though, he found. At least it looked like it. With how she dunked her entire head into it to get a drink. That surely wasn't how gembounds that looked like that were supposed to drink, right? Or was it and Elias the one that was weird?

Water splashed all over as the pup shook her head. It touched Elias, but he was still watching anyway.

Gasping for breath after nearly drowning herself, Anala frowned at the water. She gave it a small lick, finding that the action worked to moisten her tongue without preventing air from entering her lungs. She wondered why her birth would be in water when it was not something she could live in.
This world was a strange one to be born into out of nothing, especially to have been shocked by the cold and wet from the moment she could have could form a conscious thought. Perhaps the cold had kick started her brain however, considering the fact that basic words and thoughts had come to her so quick.
She turned back to Sharp, curious as to what kind of creature he was. He was solid skinned, scales fitting together to form some kind of armour. She on the other hand was soft and wobbly, still not quite able to move fluidly like the Sharp could. Her teeth were much smaller too.

"Sharp is... sharp toothed. And sharp-nosed?" She spoke of an obvious fact as if it was some magic information she had found engraved in thousand year old stone. She set a paw on her own nose, curious about what it was about their creation that had made them so different. Would there be others like her? Or was she the odd one out?
"My teeth... small and strange?" She hoped she was getting her ideas across properly, less distracted by all the new things around her. It was clear that she was relaxing now, no longer running around without thought.
