ORIGIN - In the eyes of a Wolf... or two.

Paws moved gracefully over the foliage that made up Eridanus. The soft, spongy moss was like heaven to her otherwise worn out paws. She had been doing a lot of traveling lately, so it was definitely a relief to have such soft foliage greet her pawpads instead of the hard stone that made up most of Origin. Nostrils flared, taking in all the scents that belonged to her home. The after rain scent that always coated the area mixed with its earthly touch had always been her favorite. The small breeze that swept through also carried the scent of prey.

Cave deer, ones that were not gembond and like the others were grazing not far from here. Naturally they would have made a lovely snack for a wolf, but Arkrael had never been able to convince herself to hunt one. Not when her best friend and the stag, Vazi, were the similar to them. It made her stomach turn just thinking about it.

Majesty would probably not view it the same way however so she simply kept that to herself. Slowly her tail began to sway back and forth behind her as she traveled further into Eridanus, studying each fern bush she passed by. Just to make sure things were still in order really. The monarch still loomed over the area and all seemed to be peaceful here. Good. She would hate to have to bare her fangs at anyone daring to change the way things were here. She swung her gaze back towards Majtesy for a moment, making sure she had not left him behind in her hurry to observe the place.

"What are you hungry for? The rabbits here are rather delicious," She commented as she mentally hoped he would not pick up on the herd of cave deer that lingered about. If he wanted to hunt those then she feared she would have to help him. She would not eat it however, so it would make a rather large meal for jury Majesty.

Majesty, despite his stiff muscles and healing wounds, was so very glad to be moving around again! He felt as though, had he spent any more time in that tunnel by himself, he would have gone absolutely insane! He breathed in the delicious Eridanus air, and let it out in a happy sigh, tail wagging freely. Oh, it felt good to be here again. The last time he had been here had been during the drama of the game of Truth or Dare – the one he had fallen asleep during, much to his embarrassment. It was good to be here again while he wasn’t so tired. Come to think of it, he probably shouldn’t have gone in the first place… Oh well.

He took instant notice of the deer grazing in the foreground, and his stomach rumbled with hunger. Arkrael mentioned rabbits, but… Majesty really wanted a nice, juicy deer. He had never seen such big creatures who weren’t Gembound before. Did they only live here? If so, he might have to come to Eridanus more often. He felt bad for blatantly ignoring Arkrael’s offering of rabbit, though, so he mulled it over in his mind for a bit… In the end, he just couldn’t resist. With a sort of apologetic smile he asked cautiously, “Could we hunt the deer, instead? One deer could sustain me for a long time, and we’d only have to hunt once. If we hunt rabbit, we’ll have to do it multiple times before either of us are full, and I really don’t think I can handle more than one hunt at the moment…”

Arkrael's heart sunk straight into her stomach as Majesty's words reached her erect audits. As much as he did have a point, Arkrael could not shake the feeling of unease away as a knot quickly formed in her throat. Slowly she gave a nod of agreement and turned taking a few steps closer to where she could just barely catch glimpses of the cave deer around a few fern bushes. Her tail hung low, motionless in her gait. Generally she enjoyed hunting, strove to be the best hunter around, but now she was facing something entirely different.

On instincts her movements became slower, taking one step at a time as she began to lower her head. Nostril's flared as she took in the scents from all around. Her multi-colored eyes became all the more feral, staring unwavering at the forms of cave deer just around one of more larger fern bushes. Though, the closer she came to the cave deer, the more the feeling in her gut intensified. It was strong and nauseating. Distracting her from her task of what she was doing. A sudden shift and a cave bird suddenly fluttered out of a bush, startling Arkrael enough to jump to the side with a strangled sound escaping her muzzle. Instantly the cave deer looked before bolting away and Arkrael cursed at herself with a low snarl.

Shaking it off she turned a sheepish grin to Majesty, "Well, guess I'm a little... off today. Perhaps..." She paused for a moment as she pondered on how they could do this together. As an idea came to her, Arkrael's ears jumped into attention before she turned a gaze to him again. "Do you think you could circle around them and flush them towards me? If you can do that, I'd be able to take them down while they're distracted by you," It seemed like a decent enough plan. She wasn't at all used to hunting with others. She had always done it by herself, so the idea of hunting with someone else was rather thrilling.

Majesty nodded as Arkrael agreed to hunt the deer instead, completely oblivious to her apparent emotional pain at the thought of doing so. Had he known, he would never have suggested it, and if he found out about it, he was sure to feel bad. But, for now, he assumed all was well within the Cave. He hunched down to begin the hunt, trying to ignore the pain in his body from his injuries. He grimaced, thinking about the scars he would forever have because of a single stupid fight… He sighed and shook his head, trying to focus again on the hunt. But Arkrael suddenly distracted him.

The chocolate wolf watched as the bird fluttered away with a cry of alarm, and flicked his ears at his hunting partner’s strangled cry. He whipped his head around to watch as the cave deer bolted away, and held in the sigh he wanted to let escape. It wouldn’t be very polite to sigh in disappointment in this moment. He didn’t want to make Arkrael feel bad. Instead, he sat up on his haunches and sort of looked around the room, trying to act as if nothing had happened. His eyes returned to her when she spoke, though.

When she gave her sort-of apology for scaring the deer, by explaining that she was feeling off, he gave her a smile. He wasn’t angry with her, after all. Everyone had bad days. He definitely knew that. His ears flattened as he once again remembered the fight between the giant bird and the… weasel. Majesty knew that the weasel was not actually a weasel, but he had no name for the creature… He wondered if he’d ever come into contact with either of them again. He’d have to apologize should that happen… He felt awful about the whole thing.

He wasn’t listening, and he shook his head. He was being rude, letting his mind wander like this! He came back just in time to hear, “I'd be able to take them down while they're distracted by you.” Ears flattening a little in embarrassment, he slowly pieced together what he guessed were the rest of her words. “So you want me to… scare them… towards you, I assume? Sorry, I… was lost in thought.” He smiled, but it was more of a smile of chagrin than anything else. “Yes, I could that. Say when.”

Arkrael watched Majesty before offering a small smile. "It's quite alright. Yes, that would be best," With a curt nod to her own words, Arkrael turned her gaze away and peered around. The sounds of Eridanus filled her ears and nearly caused her to drift off into thought before she was able to shake it off. Audit's twitched as she listened to Majesty requested a point to start. "Go ahead and circle around them. I will hide in those fern bushes right over there. Just herd them straight to that," She offered Majesty one last glance before she hurried off towards the Fern bushes she had pointed out to the fellow wolf.

It didn't take long for her to hide herself within the fern bushes. A grouping of them that would make the perfect cover. She crouched there, keeping herself absolutely still as she pushed her ears forward. She would hear the deer drawing closer, and smelling them too, but deep down inside she was hoping all would go wrong. How would she ever face Tamelyn if she took down one of these creatures? Or Vazi for that matter? The thoughts whirled through her mind, causing a knot to form once again within her throat as her mouth seemed to dry instantly.
