Species: idk man. Alien x Alien x Alligator... Hybrid.
Appearance: A massive, serpentine creature: long and swift, built for scurrying and crawling, and climbing. Quills coat its throat, neck, and down its spine, littering its tail, courtesy of Vargas; Vargas also imparts his multitude of toxic eyes and scent-pits (?) and alien head-shape. The creature shares its long forelimbs and shorter hind limbs with both parents, along with its long build, though it leans toward Vargas' flexibility and speed. Glowing gill-like openings vent at the side of its neck. About 30 feet long, 2k lbs, four-five feet tall at the shoulder, and slender.

Species: Alien
Appearance: A custom creation, Vargas' first, gone drastically wrong. In appearance, a massive two-headed, six-limbed, winged alien beast complete with spines, quills, horns, and rows of razor teeth. In actuality, the intended 'venom and toxins' slicking its quills and tipping its dart-tipped tail are a harmless fluid that smells and tastes like cherry juice. The "camouflage' hide Vargas intended has gone wrong, instead causing this creature to constantly be at odds with its surroundings, its hide changing like a reverse chameleon so that it constantly stands out against its background, in opposite color and shade. Its nervous system is also damaged, so that its senses of taste, touch and pain are all dampened; it makes it difficult to tell when it might be causing harm to itself. This creature will reach about 23 feet in length, about 2k lbs in weight (with reduced bone weight & strength for flight), and five to six feet in height at the shoulder. Appearance: A bipedal alien beast with broad hooves on its hind legs, and dagger-like claw-hands on its forelimbs. Its head looks much like Vargas's, but with ungulate-like ears; long, dangerously-sharp, twisted horns spiral back from its head. In a strange sense, it looks something like an Addax, in its general 'antelope' like build and coloring: a creamy white that fades to purer white on its legs, matching the white glow of its quills. Its eyes are a bright, solid, glowing green (#8bda41), and it bears two pairs of them. An Addax-like X-marking crosses its face with Vargas' purple hue. Its stone, an oily black, juts out from the lower jaw upward on each side like secondary, twisted horns, though not as long as those atop its head. It stands at twelve feet in height, a hulking beast. Due to a very weak granting of life to this creation, it will hatch with a number of unfortunate deformities. Its vision is skewed, and tainted green with the glow of its own eyes, as though its natural ability to see through its eye-light, as Vargas does, is missing. This severely impacts its vision, meaning everything it sees is past a blurring, bright green haze. An extra pelvis has formed behind the first, creating a twisted, crippling malformation: a protrusion of a non-functional second waist where the buttocks should be on a humanoid. And lastly, its gemstone, which forms tusk-like horns jutting up from the lower jaw, has also malformed, creating jagged chunks and bumps along the lower jaw that extend up between some teeth and erupt beneath the jaw itself, causing speech, eating and drinking to be difficult.

The latter two children--Deformed Two-Butt and Cherry Juice--will be put up for adoption!

Please take careful note of their descriptions, including the 'chart' of Cherry Juice with text, before applying; and please note the following requirements:

- Cherry Juice will hatch fully-grown. Mentally, it will still have room for development, and can emerge child-like if the player wishes.

- The creatures will be named by Vargas upon emergence. These will likely be rote names: a stone + number is the standard, but this is TBD. However, the creatures can choose their own names to think of themselves as, to use in private, and to eventually earn IC.

- The creatures will be, IC, by Vargas and the Sentinels of the Sands, considered essentially experimental creations intended to serve in a militant fashion. This means they'd be raised as soldiers, trained and expected to obey and enforce obedience, though Vargas is not abusive or the like, and as rough as all this sounds it's pretty standard vaguely-military RP. However, they can of course attempt to flee and avoid the SoS/Vargas IC, though this may wind up (depending on how it's done) with disastrous IC consequences--I'm perfectly happy to roleplay whatever, as long as you are!

- Deformed Two-Butt has two main plot potentials that I see: either it will be seen as a malformed useless weakling and given a brief chance to prove itself as it grows, or once it reaches full-size, with a failure meaning it gets handed off to Doctor for medical experimentation. Alternatively, it can, either when young or after any failture etc., flee and avoid/abandon the SoS and Vargas (in this case I doubt they'd care, since it's a failure...). The adopter can choose how exactly the extra pelvis manifests (exact location, orientation, how badly crippling it is, etc).

If you'd like to audition for one of these two characters, please apply using the following form; I will be choosing adopters based on both personality/char potential and activity levels.

Character Applying For: Two-butt (Jasper/Maximus) They/them, but they may experiment later.
Personality: Two-butt isn't very dynamic (at first), and seems rather lethargic and hopeless. They are, it's just not their fault, they're just reluctant to be out-going and confident lest they be teased, mocked, or bullied. Their disability alters their life a lot more than they'd like, and no matter how far they go to prove themselves, one small stumble or trip puts them back at square one. Physical prowess just isn't their thing no matter how hard they try, and they're probably their own worst critic when it comes to their own success. They really do try to live up to their heritage as Vargas' offspring and had made the mistake of thinking of him as their parent, and believe themselves to be a failure of an offspring. Their habit of laying down whenever possible (to reduce pressure on their hind and thus the pain) also makes them seem like they're lazy.

Later, possibly, they'll be a bit more outgoing due to being away from the influence of the Sentinels. They may even possibly be... happy.

- overtime learns to use their smarts and magic to outwit their own physical lack of ability
- lethargic due to chronic pain, often has to take breaks to rest their hind end, either by sitting or laying down
- can't see that well, so they rely on sound and smell to figure out their surroundings (can tell apart shapes and can see movement)

Theoretical RP Sample:

They were... frustrated, to say the least. Just trying to eat was a chore. Food got stuck in their gem, their tongue risked getting cut... it was a mess to say the least. Hunting was even worse. They weren't fast enough to catch almost anything in the caves except for mice and sometimes fat rabbits.

Not to mention the eyes that constantly watched them struggle.

Jasper was hunting, which was something they dreaded to do even though it was their main source of food. They limped towards the scent of deer, their hindquarters struggling to keep up with their more muscular front half as they walked on all fours, their longer front limbs allowing them to do so without too much discomfort (though walking on their hind legs in general was always painful). Their claws dug into the soil as they walked through Eridanus, knowing that they weren't alone. They were rarely alone these days, constantly being watched by someone to see if they'd somehow grown more useful overnight.

Their hooves seemed to hit every root they walked over, lagging behind more than usual, which... wasn't unusual either. Some days it was worse than others, the pain making them lethargic and dull. Definitely not the best day to be tested by Vargas, that's for sure. It was simple enough. Catch a deer. A jungle deer. Faster than they were period, and faster than most when it came to traversing the underbrush.

So they'd have to be tricky when it came to catching the stupid thing.

First, they rolled around in the mud. They earned narrowed eyes (they couldn't see it, but they sure could feel the way that gaze seemed to burn), and they stood up, resisting the urge to shake. Their scent was hidden and their white fur was now brown, easier to hide in the underbrush. Now it was time for step 2.

Jasper quietly made their way through the jungle, peeking through the branches into clearings to try and find a herd. They were careful with their feet, making sure to lift the hind ones higher and to avoid sticks that would snap. It wasn't long before the gembound found a deer. It was a doe, maybe a few cycles old at most, head down as it grazed. Jasper only spotted it because it moved, otherwise it would have blended in with the rest of the greenery, their sight not nearly good enough to spot it normally. They settled down next to a deer trail and patted along the ground, grinning in triumph as they found a rock. They picked it up carefully and swallowed, sitting up slowly.

They tossed it at a tree on the other side of the clearing and watched the deer spook away, closer to them. The urge to jump was nearly irresistible, but they stayed still, their heart thumping in their chest. The deer grew closer and closer... they could just barely smell it, hear its breathing, see it look around.

Jasper pounced.

And missed. They'd misjudged the distance. The gembound tore after it, desperate to eat, to show that they weren't useless, claws lashing out to scratch at the creature's rump. They ran after it, their hind legs lagging and struggling to keep up, and they just barely managed to catch a leg and take it down. A quick bite to the throat was all they needed, and they collapsed onto their side, panting like they'd ran a mile. They... did it.

They did it!

Child Name: Thando (internally) [Thando chose the name because it SOUNDED cool; it actually means "Love". I am a clown.]
Gender: Genderfluid (Refers to the big-horned head as female, and the small-horned as male)
Personality:

ONE PART ZEALOT, ANOTHER PART CRYPTID, AND ALL PARTS OVERCOMPENSATION!
Being an almost-failed science experiment can certainly do something (positively negative) to your self-esteem. This is certainly the case for Thando, the two headed creature of Vargas' spawn that internally refers to itself by one name. These two heads share one soul, which picks which head to use based on an ever-fluctuating mood. A mood it is never not in is one of dedication; it will do anything -- and I mean anything -- to please those it respects. It knows its body is troublesome, troubling, and troubled (a motley of errors), and as a result, it tries with all its might to sometimes make up for it, and other times prove these flaws are actually features... in disguise!

THE SMALL-HORNED HEAD, IN A NUT,
This is where Thando stores his creativity, his calculations, and his japes. This head is oft quiet, ever observant, and always accompanied by a knowing little smile across his snout, even when he knows nothing of the situation he watches (he might be zoning out). He rarely uses this head to speak, and when he does use it, the words tend to be ominous, poetic, and brief. This head represents Thando's seeking of knowledge and entertainment of the most innovative kinds.

This is the side Thando uses when he wants to think of his flaws as something like "undocumented features", and when he wants to find interesting solutions to amusing problems.


THE LARGE-HORNED HEAD, IN A SHELL.
This is where Thando stores her perfectionism, her reflections, and her willpower. This head usually has her mental motor fired up, racing to either find or improve upon the perfect path to take or move to make in order to carry out whatever duty she's been given. She uses this head to speak more often, bearing a near constant grimace that delivers soldierly reports and carefully premeditated comments. This head represents Thando's desire to purge its weaknesses by fire so that strength may grow instead.

This is the side Thando uses when she would rather make up for her external flaws by obliterating her internal ones.

ORDER IS HARD WHEN YOU'RE A CHAOS BEAST...
Reaping chaos is what Thando was made for. Its chaos may come in many forms, but nevertheless, chaos it will (gleefully!) try to make. But, as even the wildest storm has an eye, Thando has a small amount of intrinsic orders: devotion, care, and performance.

1.) Devotion, as mentioned before, to superiors.
2.) Care, in what it does, and potentially, against its will, for others.
3.) Performance; the love of the grand and grandiose, and the promise of a "greater", a "bigger", a "thing to be prepared for..."

A demonstration was being provided on the how-to of hunting. Thando was inclined to listen, and watch carefully. She had to know how to do this, and do it well; if she failed in this, her very life may be at risk. It wouldn't be easy, what with all the factors baked into her own creation that defied what nature should be allowed to support. Lesser senses made things annoying, but the fact that she could never hide in plain sight and smelled like an orchard of cherries was what caused great difficulty, in this situation at least.

So she watched, crouching low to the sandy ground (which her flesh had decided a rich dark purple with pink polka-dots would do nicely against), curtly nodding and whispering "I understand"s at each interval where it felt necessary. And she was alright to do this for as long as it took, or so she thought... but then the length and the talking went on. And on. And on. And a lizard was staring at her in what looked like a mixture of shock, terror, and amusement probably. And a merciful breeze carried a flurry of sand grains that Thando could barely feel, but she was feeling it because-- no.... but yes... but NO... but alas, yes...

Thando was zoning out.

And who could blame him? This was a rather superfluous amount of information to be thrashed with all of the sudden. Perhaps there was a way to get out of it, to reassure the teacher that he would be alright, just peachy? Would he be? As words became idle, stagnant as desert air, Thando's mind began to stitch together... a quilt. A quilt of IDEAS! It was a marvelous thing, with patches of all shapes and colors, similar to Thando himself! And the patch he was stitching now... involved a certain kind of "venom".

"It's alright," Thando interrupted, only half (or more like a quarter)-listening to whatever his teacher was going on about (something about his venom). "My venom will help." "How?" A simple question, to be met with a simple riddle. "What interests a fly more; the sweet or the sour?" And with that, Thando would trundle off, leaving a trail of cherry-flavored liquid in his wake.

A trap.

And perhaps taking a page from the sandworms and hiding beneath the sand while he waited would serve him well.

Okay, I have DECIDED. I like all the apps a lot, actually, but I am choosing yspobdon's version of Cherry Juice because I quite like the clever/resourceful quirk in it. Therefore;
