His hands back in his lap, Azrael watched Banshy for a moment with all the fondness his fairly reserved expressions could muster. Well, now he knew what it felt like to be a father in both ways - adopted and by blood. And he found the experience to be relatively the same, but there was a different kind of emotion looking at the bird creature, because he saw himself in its shape and its wings. He had created that, and now it had a life of its own.
It was incredible.
And he decided, then, that he would not lie to the creature. He would not go into a familial relationship with them without telling them why they existed in the first place.
he looked to azrael with curiosity, after a moment. what was this about?
when faced with the question, he nodded his head cautiously. what was azzy on about?
@Banshy
It sounded... grave, serious. And so they nodded, squatting down to rest on a comfortable way,
@Azrael
Azrael valued honesty. It was a bit ironic, considering that he was loud and proud a demon of darkness, personification of all things sinful, but perhaps it came with the heavyset pride that formed the foundations of who he was. Lying was, in his eyes, a form of weakness - it meant that the liar couldn't handle the truth, that they weren't strong enough to own up to their own actions. He hated lying and he resented the times that he had to do it; but for this, honesty was essential. It could decide the core of their relationship and it would show them exactly who he was - and if he didn't tell Banshy the truth, he might as well be lying to them.
He cleared his throat.
he listened.
he grew more.. concerned as the story went on. it was visible in his face. he seemed conflicted, and a little worried. he looked at banshy with an odd look. he didn;t know how to feel about this.
on one hand, azrael was only a hatchling. when you're a hatchling, you dont really think much about anything. hell, he thought azrael might eat him when he first showed up.
he looked at azzy, after a moment, to speak.
"ah.. i.. this is definitely news, azzy.." he chirped, nervously. "but.. i dont.. think it'd be fair of me to pass any judgement. i-it was a long time ago, different circumstances and... all that"
@Banshy

and in my hearti see the light
Banshy listened, and they listened well.
It was... a story, certainly. To know that they'd once been so small or, at least, come from something so small, was hard to believe. And though they were young, very young, every creature instinctively fears death, and though they might not have truly understood the gravity of what their sire may have done they understood it well enough.
@Azrael
Azrael rumbled. Their reactions were better then he had expected. Although he was quickly figuring out that Banshy was not much one for expressiveness. It wasn't a problem, but something he simply took note of.
And to Banshy, he offered a grateful grunt.
