Nemesis's forward momentum was suffocated by the sudden weight that came crashing down, knocking both her and Orthoclase-Alpha off course. The kaiju was thrown aside, and her head wrenched, nearly dragged away with it, but her body kept stumbling forward. She careened into a slide, knees roughing on the bloody tarmac.
Dazed and sputtering, it took her a moment to even process what had happened. Her blood-stained violet gaze blinked, bleary and confused at the shapes before her. The massive purple, spiky bastard-- that, she remembered seeing him before. Orthoclase-Alpha's sibling? Parent? Her ears rang with the deep, booming voice... parent.
What she could see of Orthoclase-Alpha from her position made her already battered chest strain with tightness, each breath harder as empathy wrenched it from her. That wild, blind stare... It did not lash out at its father, however... It was afraid, the rattling sound of quills like a rainstorm, as it shrunk away. The scene was an overplayed allegory, one she had witnessed too many times.
"Don't," Nemesis rasped, though she had no way of knowing what Vargas was going to do. It was rather unfair, really, how she jumped to conclusions... But because of those conclusions, she didn't want Vargas to do anything to Alpha. "Don't. Let them go."
Belatedly, she remembered her audience, and shivering, she hobbled up to her feet, swinging her head toward Oliver and Shengxiao and everyone else as a yelp from behind caught her attention. Immediately, she felt revitalized as her gaze pinned on the black, feathery dog that was suddenly bleeding. She didn't want to go too far, in case her fears were justified, but she was also torn between too many thoughts at once. Was it the blood that had triggered Orthoclase-Alpha's freak out, or was it how she had struck the face? Did it even matter, now? Why, no, how was the bystander bleeding, now?
idk like? @Vargas @Orthoclase-Alpha @Shengxiao ???
