((OOC: ALRIK IS CALLING FOR CREATURES TO JOIN HIM FOR A HUNT!))

((FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO GET INVOLVED IN ALRIK'S COLLECTOR QUEST, THIS IS A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE AN ENTRANCE!))

((Dragons are also welcome of course, everyone is! uwu))

James wasn't gonna do. Alrik had thought them to be big, strong, probably kind, ever since that... incident. But a single practice spar had uncovered the truth. Alrik needed bigger. Stronger. Kinder.

So Alrik called for anyone that would hear. He called several times, actually. He had no real way to know how to do this correctly. He didn't know anyone that could spread information... yet.

Investigating Monoceros might come in very handy to him. Alrik had heard about dragons, had even fought a young one. They were nothing to sneeze at, unfortunately, and Alrik wasn't entirely sure he could defeat one... I mean, Alrik was amazing at many a thing, don't get me wrong, but... his best strengths were in withstanding as opposed to wounding or attacking, let's put it that way. He was valiant! Too brave for his own good! Truly! But also, he was... small.

Well, okay, maybe if he practiced more and knew more about dragons, he could take one down! He wasn't devoid of faith in himself. But he figured that, at least in this moment, it wouldn't be easy. So, to bring us all the way back from this long-winded tangent, it might be best to know the surroundings. The dangers. In case something like, I don't know, running was ever involved.

Collector's wishes aside, Alrik wanted to hone his skills at the same time. One could always grow by the force of their own will! And hunting, in this new space? It seemed like exactly the challenge he needed.

Hopefully he wouldn't have to do it alone, but you know, he could if everyone else was too chicken.

NOTE: Check out the Lessers Guide for prey ideas. As this is Monoceros, any hunting could be rather challenging. ;3c

'ANYONE AROUND HERE WANNA HUNT WITH ME?! UNLESS YOU'RE TOO CHICKEN!'

Bone jerked reflexively toward the sound, her wings--spread, soaring, on Monoceros' warm wind--briefly losing balance. A grunt of surprise escaped her as she briefly struggled her way back into a smooth glide.

That was an unfamiliar voice--and a loud one. And it was ongoing, too, calling out more startlingly-loud invitations and mockeries. Bone found herself both curious and amused; clearly this stranger didn't know who lived in Monoceros, or maybe didn't care. Warm by nature, she banked low and turned, coming in with heavy flaps of her great wings to thud down onto rock. Dust plumed up around her, her body a bulky, armored one and not given to light and graceful landings. Or light and graceful anythings, for that matter.

"Hello," she offered, gently, and then--because some creatures seemed to assume otherwise--"I will not hurt you. Are you the one calling out?" She seemed at ease, expression friendly, despite her massive size.

Carja had come along with Bone (whether she was aware or not, since the whelp had really just latched onto her tail like a leech and let herself be dragged off), excited to see where the fellow four-legged dragon was going. She was clinging to the very end of her tail, jaws clamped shut like a crocodiles to keep her attached to Bone's appendage.

When they soared down, she snapped open her wings properly and let go, spiraling down in a semi-controlled decent that ended up with her flopping on the ground and bouncing a few feet before scrabbling up and scuttling back to Bone, giggling.

"Oh hey- I know you! Kitty!" she exclaimed, pointing to Alrik, before jumping up at Bone and pawing at her like she was a chihuahua trying to play with a pitbull, "I sat on them at the wrestling thing!!"

She was much too happy about beating up this kid...

My worst enemy
is my memory

Flying used to calm Hera.

When she needed to think, she'd take to the sky.

But the dark scared her, now. And Cetus, despite being her home, her world, her paradise, was very, very dark. And though she desparately hated to admit it, Cetus was starting to scare her.

And Monoceros was bright enough, with its heat and harsh lighting. Had the tornado, too, which threw up the most wonderful updrafts. So to Monoceros she went, swooping this way and that, closing her eyes and trying to grow used to the dark, but even that dark was too much, and she'd jolt.

When Alrik called, she nearly fell into the tornado. Only a sharp bank of her wings kept her from being sent careening, and her heart thundered even as she swooped to land not far away from the Pallas cat and those big, big creatures, over-large talons making her stumble, having still not grown used to them, flying fox ears twitching to face Bone, then Carja, then back to Alrik.

"You called?" she finally asked, ruffling her feathers again and again.
