The path they took had almost no shrubs or greenery in the way. Comet saw many other paths that seemed to be a more direct route, but they followed the ones that were easy to walk on. She was sure she would've been exhausted if they took the other paths, so she was happy that Aristotle could guide her through the easier ones to their destination.
Comet listened to his reply to her question, she wondered what a horse looked like. Tall, dark, and handsome wasn't really much description to go off of. The only things she was sure of was that a horse had four legs, about Aristotle's height, and possibly had a darker fur. If it even had any fur at all. She couldn't wait to meet him, a horse sounded like a very interesting thing indeed.
I can keep going some more! said Comet. She hoped to make her dad feel proud of how strong she was. She forced her legs to go further, and Sun's encouragement was very helpful. Finally, the lion led them into a cave which was very dark.
Comet followed the bobbing tuft of fur on the end of Aristotle's tail. It waved side to side a bit but she followed it with ease until the darkness pressed in hard, she gently grabbed the tail in her mouth. But she was frightened of the dark and when they finally found the light again and Comet let go of the tail, she saw that there were some bit marks on it.
Wow! she sighed, as she looked around the room full of plants. She suddenly felt a wave of tiredness go through her legs, and she plopped down on the pelts. Comet watched her brother Sun walk over and inspect her paws.
Thank you Sun. His fingers massaged her paws just right, and the soreness disappeared. Comet felt a surge of gratitude and love for Sun and Aristotle. They were a great family to have.
After some time of relaxing on the pelts, she sprang up on her rested paws.
I'm ready to continue now. I won't need a break this time, daddy! said Comet, she was ready to finish the journey to her new home.
