The closer Sebastian got to the crumbled dam, the louder the slow churn and grind of stone-on-stone got. It was a tell-tale sign of the golem congregation that lingered here, all these cycles later. Larger amalgamations ambled around the place, squatting low every once in a while to pick up a scrap of missed gemstone and press it to their rocks.
In front of the puma, there were two golems made entirely of mere pebbles shuffling about. They scuttled from one chrysalis to another, gathering up the smaller shards. One was practically quadruped, overly long arms propelling it forward. The other seemed to lack arms entirely, walking exclusively on a pair of stumpy legs.
Either of them were almost... cute, what with their relative smallness in comparison to Sebastian. They didn't take notice to him, too preoccupied with the shattered chrysalis nearest to them.
@Sebastian
For the sake of narrative coherency, let's call the two-limbed golem... Stumpy - and the odd quadruped Crawly.
Stumpy bumbled into the mess of chrysalis shards, picking through them almost methodically. One would seem to strike its fancy, so it would squat down low... and rub its pebble-face in it. Rub, rub, rub, until the gemstone was attached by whatever strange gravity held the rest of its stones together.
Crawly shambled more indiscriminately, pebbles churning against one another as it moved towards the largest pile of shards. Once there, it all but collapsed into them. Tiny, dusty fingers clutched at the apparently viable pieces and plastered them onto itself.
Sebastian hadn't done anything to catch their attention... yet.
