Polaris. Polaris Polaris Polaris. Where in these caves was that located. They's heard the name before but they couldn't quite remember a location. Mayfal was very bad at directions. But right of exit....maybe that had been where they entered from. The cold place. Cold places must have water!

They heard Comet's plea not to go alone, but what else could they do? They ran off towards the cold.

In Polaris, they made sure to take careful steps so they could simultaneously find a water source and avoid other creatures. They took a few steps forward. They felt a cold damp feeling engulf their paw along with a soft splash.

Water! This should do just the trick. They scooped up as much as their mouth could hold (admittedly not much) and raced back Comet. Luckily, they had't gone too far, otherwise finding the way back would be much harder.

When they heard Comet's moans of pain grow close, they gently bapped her paw to let her know she was back, safe, and with water.

Comet hoped that they would stay, but following her whisper was the sound of rapid paw steps. Mayfal had ran off to find some water. She wondered why she had even decided to come into this tunnel. It was a bad decision, among all the other bad decisions she had made this was one of the worst. Not only did she have a horrible headache, she had endangered Mayfal too!

Comet decided to make another attempt at standing up, she would have to rescue the fox. It wasn't that she didn't trust them with staying safe on their own, it was just that she wanted to protect them, just in case. She had only lifted her head an inch of the ground when the pain surged back again. She folded back her ears and let out an involuntary moan. It hurt, it really hurt.

That, was when she felt the tap on her paw. Nothing could describe the wave of relief that washed over her. They had made it! They were safe! She opened her mouth and felt water flow down her dry throat. It wasn't much, but it helped. Her mind felt a little clearer, hopefully now she was strong enough to stand up.

Shoot! She felt her legs give away under her and she fell back onto the ground. Luckily, her speech was mostly back. "Thank you Mayfal, for saving me." Comet was not the best with words, and tried to think of other ways to express her immense gratitude.

Comet was already thanking Mayfal, but she wasn't saved quite yet. They heard her fall again. She needed more water.

"I'll be back." They were determined to get Comet on her paws. No matter how much danger there could be.

They ran back to where they had stepped in water before. They started to scoop up water into their mouth, but realized how loud they were being. Hopefully they hadn't caught the attention of other creatures. Mayfal didn't hear a sound besides their own slurping. There might have been something in the distance, but it was far enough away to dismiss.

They carried the water back to Comet and repeated the process of transferring water into the wolf's mouth.

"How are you feeling now?"

This time, Comet was alarmed when Mayfal ran off again. Darn! Why did she have to fall like that? She knew that the second time, more predators would have been drawn towards the scent. Luckily she heard the sounds of the fox running back, safe.

The water trickled into her mouth, and she felt energized enough to try again. She hauled herself onto her feet and wobbled. But she was able to stay up. The headache wasn't as bad anymore, but it was still there. "I-- I can walk now. Thank you!" Comet's legs felt a bit weak, but she was sure she would be able to make it home. But, now that Mayfal was here, perhaps they could do other things? Like perhaps... explore Pisces? "Since, I'm a bit better now, this tunnel leads to Pisces. There is a lot of water there. Do you want to go?"

Pisces. Pisces has a lot of water. A lot of water.

"Yes." Mayfal was affirmative. Probably more than they needed to be. "Let's go."

Except, they didn't know where to go, so they stood and waited to hear Comet's footsteps. They were weak, so Mayfal tried to stay next to her side, just in case. They followed Comet like this all the way to Pisces.

Comet was glad that Mayfal agreed, adventuring, with her friend! And she wasn't sure if she could say this but best friend? She wasn't sure if the fox would agree, but to Comet, Mayfal was her best friend, which was as close as family. The fox was quite affirmative about going, great! They must also really want to go.

The wolf appreciated that the fox stayed against their side in case she fell. Leaning against them, Comet was aware that her own paw steps were rather hard to hear, but she walked as loud as she could, leading them both, towards Pisces, where their next adventure would begin.
