Kitty turned her head, and the wisp moved into the bubble. The surface rippled for a moment, nearly imperceptible, but then there was a tiny glowing prism between the two of them. The water refracted the light in all directions now, and Kitty sat down on the branch, starting to lick at her gory-looking paw. She tried to unsheathe her claws and hissed -- this one was halfway torn off, and bleeding profusely. It'd never heal properly like this! But at the thought of remedying it, she started to shake.
Not everyone had the mental acuity for self-surgery.
"Stupi' claw," she muttered at it, not even able to lick the wound without immense pain. Was she going to be able to hunt like this? Kitty had no idea, but she was also shivering from cold now -- even in the warmth of Eridanus, the water was cooling fast and she hated it. Kitty didn't know
what to do, so she just made another wisp on the opposite side of her.

Kitty frowned, looking down at the wolf. Her tail dangled down from the tree as she weighed her options back and forth -- Comet didn't seem to be mean... not anymore, anyway. But what if she changed her mind--? She made an unsure noise, but the fear that her paw might get infected outweighed her caution, and so she tucked it in and tried to climb down the tree -- horizontally, as red pandas tended to do, by turning her back feet outward. Without the stability of her other claws, she went faster and jerkier than she'd meant to. Finally tumbling tail-over-head onto the ground, she made a face and held it out to Comet.

A moment passed, her ears
flattened against her head, and then she took a small step towards he water before dunking her paw into it. She hissed at the stinging and jerked her paw back on instinct, but then pushed it back in as the water quickly colored red. She frowned and her tail lashed back and forth.
"Hurts." Still, she knew this wasn't a pain Comet was causing -- it was just a pain she was already experiencing, intensified slightly by the coolness of the water (although the heat from the wound was leeching out nicely).
"N-Needs to--" She cringed, a cold pulse of anxiety and revulsion twisting through her.
"Gotta come off," she whispered.
"Can' do i'. No' me."

Kitty sighed and closed her eyes, not daring to watch. She didn't even want to know
when Comet was going to do it, and it seemed like Comet had the same idea. Kitty was expecting three, and was a little surprised when Comet kept going, opening her eyes to look at the wolf strangely and then letting out a
scream as her claw was torn out clean. Kitty let out a shuddering sob and collapsed onto the ground, still bleeding profusely. She kept howling for about forty seconds, and then started to sob quietly as the pain faded to an ebb and flow of manageable misery.
But finally, she managed a ragged, sad, and somewhat hoarse
"I will be." She smushed her face into the ground, paw still bleeding into the grass and water as she tried to think about what to do about it over the general pain and unfortunateness.

Kitty relaxed into Comet's touch, her ears laid back as her breathing came out rough. She looked up after a moment and glanced around. She pointed out an abandoned spider web and whined.
"Moss an' that. Moss'll catch the-- the--" She shuddered.
"An the webs'll make it sticky." She sniffed and let Comet take care of her -- it was easier than continuing to try and fight it.
