Calypso was a caged bird among so called paradise. Yet when she looked around, hm, how come all she saw was pain and misery? Enna had retreated since Leon had returned, after patching him up best she could, and even the dumb brat's whining and pleading had failed to return the precious sugar queen. Hmph. Ratchet didn't even try to fight back when she took hold of Bevy, her reach cold and uncaring.
Perhaps they were all tired of the hurt. Clutched in her talons was the piece of quartz from Orion, as she sat on the perch Cancer often used to run meetings. She wasn't going to run a meeting just yet, of course, there was still a few days... A week or two... And if Cancer didn't return, then it was her duty to get the election going. Of course, as much as Enna wanted to find Cancer and bring him home, there was too much keeping her here. The bird, the bear, the weird brown noodle. She had stretched herself too thin and she had finally given up. It was pathetic, really.
The current fronter of the pitohui bird's body wasn't anywhere near as weak. In some ways, she was more than willing to seize the change of control, but in other ways, it was... She surveyed the land before her, cold and angry. She wasn't usually so quick to emotions, but this feeling was one that was like sharp ice in her veins and she couldn't shake it. This place was tying her down, keeping her from achieving what she should have been doing. Enna was too soft, too babying.
And now Maji Walezi was suffering for it. Pah. It was what they deserved. She huffed, settling down on the cold rock, letting the spray of water and mist cool her feathers and soak her to the skin.
Perhaps some day things would make more sense. The faint murmurings of a prophecy, of a story that somehow brushed the feathers of the gentle, loving mother bird, crept into her brain. As much as she tried to shake it, how could any of those gullible idiots let it go? It fit them too well. It scared them in all the right ways.
So why did she wait, out in the open, instead of in her nook of privacy?
The nagging question.
to make everybody happy while i just hurt and hide
waitin for someone to tell me it's my turn to decide
who cares if you disagree, who died
and made you king of anything?
