ORIGIN

Madhukar's paws were full of life and energy. She was so happy to be feeling... however she was feeling! Surrounded by buzzy little rainbow bugs, being assured that the storms inside of her were now safe to be let out. Tahi knew about it now too! It was kind of nice to have a friend who was in it all with you. Who trained and grew alongside you! Yet another piece of knowledge, yet another beloved piece of life held dear to Madhukar's heart to keep her smiling.

Life was strange, and in Eridanus, it was often very brightly colored. Madhukar knew that electricity helped things grow, and she knew everything that lived needed water. Perhaps she should make a storm, then? As a gift to the plants and the mushrooms and the bugs!

She would begin how she always begun. With rain.

Kalaziel had taken their feathery, noodly body to Eridanus. The place was green, and they kind of liked that color. Droplets were coming from above, wetting their feathers and creating a weird look to their body as they moved. Feathers in all kinds of directions, this way and that.

Somehow they knew it was magic creating that wetness coming from above. They Just had to find who was the cause of it. Inching around like an inchworm, kalaziel looked... And looked.... And looked...

And found nothing.

Madhukar had no idea about the approaching worm in her domain. She had even less of an idea about aforementioned worm's origins, about its relations to that brutish and brazen chicken that she'd sparred not too long ago. Madhukar was busy thinking about what to add next to her storm.

Her eyes settled on a young tree underneath the span of the rainfall. She wondered about something... about her magic. She could direct her electricity, her energy, into that young tree, and it would probably get utterly decimated. But... she didn't want to hurt it. That was her goal here -- to learn not to hurt for no reason. And this was her gift to Eridanus, not her attack on it. She wondered, then, if there was something she could give that tree besides a storm. Another part of herself. Could lightning be harmless? No. Could she give away energy in... another form? Tahi's words occurred to her, his electric spell.

Maybe.

She focused and, instead of thinking of her energy in the form of lightning and storms, she thought of the growth of that plant. Of the energy, just the basic energy, inside of her own self. She wondered if they were similar. Similar enough for her to give away some of her own, for free -- not turn it into lightning. Turn it into... food. Food?

Food.

And right before her eyes, that young tree grew. Not to full size! But quite considerably, as if it had aged up, grown stronger. Madhukar, in contrast, suddenly began to feel very weak and tired. She flopped down on her side, looking at the fortified tree with a doofy smile across her face.

Energy. As food. Not lightning.

She'd done it.

Kalaziel still hadn't found what caused that rain. Surely the cave wouldn't just produce rain out of nowhere? Like... there had to be something that came before the rain. Like clouds - but those clouds appeared out of nowhere. It was magic doing that. It had to be.

They inched around, and inched some more. Still nothing. Though there was a funny sound close by. So the slithery thing would move that way.

Madhukar breathed in deep. The sounds of thousands of rain particles slamming into the earth made it impossible to hear any odd sounds in the distance. The smell of that same action, petrichor, disguised any more unfamiliar scents. Electricity crackled around Madhukar, fading now, but still present. She found it strange. Was that... no, she hadn't cast a spell. But in the presence, in the comfort of her own storm, the crackling felt... right.

She wasn't going to put lightning in this storm. She was still holding to her plan, learning to control and not overuse it in Eridanus, but... she wanted a break sometimes, from the... feelings it gave her. Her magic must've wanted a break too, since it appeared to be with her on this decision. For now. It wanted her to... I mean, look at that tree! She'd just DONE THAT!! She'd never done it before, and it felt tiring, unlike the rest of her spells. She smiled at it. Finally, she could have a little peace now.

But for a moment, a moment of staring at a tree, Madhukar considered. If she could do that with a tree, could she do that with...? --! Immediately, the cat managed to hop up to her paws. She wondered over to the nearest flower. It looked a bit young, too, like that tree. 'Was speck, then taller?' Ah yes, the words of that strange hatchling she'd managed to meet and take to Sunny. Yes! This juvenile flower, once speck, now taller. 'How tall can it get?'

Madhukar's eyes trained on the flower. Its petals, its bright center where buzzy bugs tended to reside in. And... WOOSH. It grew! Madhukar stumbled back a bit, and then laughed QUITE loudly. The laugh drained out of its energy, however, as Madhukar suddenly slumped back to the ground beside the flower. Geez this was tiring. That didn't stop Madhukar from giggling and smiling. Purring, even. She just... couldn't believe it! I mean, she had to believe it, it was right in front of her eyes! She was just so... happy!

Kalaziel made it to wherever that sound had come from, though the rain now muffled just about anything that could be around. The sound hitting whatever that was, was different, though. And Kalaziel wanted to figure out what that different noise was coming from. They didn't even take into consideration the danger that might be posed to them, if they went that way. Danger just made things more fun, anyway!

As they walked that way, Kalaziel ended up stepping on the flower Madhukar had made grow, and maybe they didn't notice in favor of looking at the feline as she laughed.

"Why are you laughing? I don't see anything funny." They asked.

Suddenly, something had to step in to literally crush her fun.

Words didn't even register. WOAH! WHAT WAS THAT THING, HOW DARE IT CRUSH HER PLANT?!

"WH- HEY! WHO ARE YO'?! WHA' TH' HECK ARE YO' DOIN'?!" Her stance shifted immediately as she jumped up, laughter short circuiting and vanishing as if it hadn't been there. She fought her lingering languor and shifted into a defensive, spitting position. She was ready to fight if this thing wanted to fight. NOBODY stepped on the plants and got away with it while SHE was watching! Those plants were for the BUGS!!!
