Comet trotted happily into the snowy area of Polaris where she would once again, go hunting. To be honest, she was already getting a little bored of hunting everyday. Mainly because it wasn't challenging enough. She had already done so many things, building, hunting, exploring. There just wasn't much left to do.

She laid down in the snow, her white fur allowing her to blend in with the snow around her. The only thing revealing her position was the blue gem that was her gemstone ear.

@Imperia

It was cold. It was much, much too cold.

Thankfully, Imperia could practically feel their fire magic running through them and it kept them warm. Still, it didn't do much to stop the snow they had to step over. Not unless they wanted to use their magic, and they didn't feel like doing that at the moment. It probably wouldn't last for long, anyway.

They had woken from their chrysalis not long ago and had no idea how much time had passed. They'd heard whispers here and there, many of things they knew nothing about. Some of it was familiar though - it seemed as though there had been an olympics competition recently. Had they been gone for a year, then?

They wondered, briefly, how Aaliyah was doing, before quickly abandoning that train of thought. They didn't care. The hybrid could do whatever she wanted.

They had started walking through Polaris, flicking the snow off their paws with every step even though it was practically useless. It was better than letting it build up, at least. They continued this way for a bit, wanting to hopefully get somewhere where it wasn't so snowy, when something caught their eyes. Among the whiteness of the snow was something blue that stuck out. Having nothing better to do, they headed toward it and realized it was the gem of some other gembound. They hadn't talked to anyone in so long.

They sat down nearby, trying to make out the exact shape of the creature. They blended in so well aside from the gem. Eventually, they decided to say something. They'd never admit it to anyone, but they were definitely craving some sort of interaction. It'd been so long since they last talked to anyone and they were feeling a little lonely.

"Uh...hi?"

"Speech" Thoughts

@Comet
Comet had seen the caracal long before they had seen her. They were easy to spot: brown fur that didn't blend in with the surroundings, and they were just overall drawing attention to themselves. She could tell that they weren't used to this snow, as they kept flicking it off their paws.

She eyed them warily, her ocean blue eyes following their every move. Not that she was scared of course, she was a wolf! She wasn't scared of such things! Where were they going? They looked like they had never been here before, but that wasn't possible. They looked fully grown! Everyone went to Polaris at some point.

The wolf pup tensed as the caracal sat down near her. And just... stared. She stared right back, and stayed really still. Why did her gem have to stand out so much? The confused expression on their face was funny though. It was quite hard to see where the snow ended and her fur started.

"Uh, hi?" Their voice shook her from her thoughts. "Hello." Comet stayed in her down position, legs bunched and body ready to tackle them if needed. Although being a pup, she probably wasn't heavy enough to take them down anyway. "Um, I'm Comet. Who are you?" Yes, that was good. She had to remember to be polite.

@Imperia

It wasn't long before the gembound answered. They seemed awfully young - Imperia could just barely make out their shape amongst the snow, and they didn't appear to be fully grown. Upon saying their name - Comet - they flicked an ear. "I'm Imperia."

Cycles ago, that might've gotten some to pause. They'd once been known for their fighting prowess, but it had been a long time since then. They hadn't gotten into any fights in so long. They hadn't even been awake and out of their chrysalis for long. Most certainly, many gembounds had hatched since then. Gembounds who wouldn't have a clue who they were.

Once, that might've annoyed them. For so long, they'd dreamed of being feared. Of having others cower in their presence. Now, though? That all just seemed...exhausting. They mainly just wanted to live, now. Though they certainly weren't opposed to a fight here and there...

@Comet
"Imperia." Comet said it aloud, imprinting the name on her tongue. The way that they had said it, like the name was supposed to mean something. But the pup did not know of such things, being too young, although she felt that the name commanded respect somehow. There was a sort of power in it.

"Well, um, nice to meet you. What brings you here?" she asked. Normally after introducing herself to someone, Comet would stop the formalities, but she didn't. She wasn't sure why, but something told her to respect this caracal.

@Imperia

Imperia flicked their ear as Comet said their name. It'd been a while since they'd last heard anyone say it. As she continued, they blinked. What brought them here? Well, that was as good a question as any. They weren't really sure.

"I was in my chrysalis for...some time. I woke up here in Polaris, though it's...different from how I remember." They shook some of the snow off their paws at this moment, a look of disgust on their face. "Used to be much less snow, that's for sure. Why is all this even here?" Did something in Polaris happen that covered it in snow? They had no idea, and they hated this not knowing.

"Anyway. What...brings you here?" The little creature - wolf, maybe? - seemed as though she would be far more comfortable here than Imperia is.

@Comet
Hmm, no wonder they looked grown up but didn't know a lot of things. They had been in their chrysalis this whole time! Comet tilted her head in thought. "Hm, I don't know. One day I came here and there was snow everywhere. It just... appeared." She hoped that would be a sufficient explanation.

Seeing that Imperia did not mean any harm, the pup relaxed in the snow. "Well, I usually come here to hunt and practice magic, but I'm bored now. I have already done everything." Comet wished she didn't have so much energy at times. Now she had run out of things to do. Maybe the caracal would come up with something fun.

@Imperia

Imperia grunted. So it just randomly appeared? Well, that seemed fitting for the caves. It always felt like there was something going on. They'd stopped trying to keep track of it long ago. So, there's snow in Polaris now. It was annoying, certainly, but they'd just have to get used to it. Hopefully it'd be gone soon.

They watched as the pup seemed to relax and then continue talking. Hunt and practice magic...certainly fun things to do, more or less, but not all there is to do. They found themselves smirking as they looked over the pup. Certainly over a cycle old...And if Comet was bored, well, they had an idea.

"Hunting and practicing magic are always important but...that's not all there is to do." They stepped slightly closer, a glint in their eyes that hadn't been there before. "Anyone taught ya how to fight yet, kid?"

"Speech" Thoughts

@Comet
"Not all there is to do?" What else could there possibly be? Comet looked at them eagerly as the stepped a bit closer. She could see a sort of energy in their eyes that hadn't been there before. "No." The pup smiled, "Let's do it."

She almost couldn't believe her luck! Her parents taught her hunting and magic, but none of them taught her fighting. And here was a caracal who could. If she learned well enough, one day she will be stronger than anyone who threatens her family! Not only was fighting fun to learn, it had its uses too.

Comet's tail immediately started thumping on the ground, and she awaited eagerly for her first instructions.

@Imperia

Imperia grinned down at the eager pup. It'd been many cycles since they'd gotten into a fight, even more since they taught how to fight, but it was something they already knew. Like it was ingrained into them, or something. It may have been a long time, but it came to them naturally.

"Alright. First things first, what kind of magic you got? Anything that could help in a fight, hurt your opponent?" They looked over Comet, wondering if they could figure out what magic they had. They couldn't see any burn scars, but it was possible they still had some other type of magic that could be used offensively.
