A ruby chrysalis sat tucked away in Cepheus, and nearby -- as near as it possibly could be without one having absorbed the other -- was one of sapphire. Both were rather small, all things considered, the chrysalis having no need to grow larger. But it was time now, time to wake up. The neonate's tiny claws scraped at the walls of his prison, egg tooth picking at its edge -- and while he ought to not have been strong enough to break it, the magic of the chrysalis reacted and the ruby egg cracked like an egg might have and allowed the new child to poke his way out.
He tumbled awkwardly onto the ground and flailed his little legs in the air before noticing the sapphire. Immediately, he righted himself and hopped over to peck at its walls, as if saying join me. He couldn't break it, it would have been impossible to do so, but he could tell the creature inside that he was not going to be alone. The peacock sat down and tucked his legs underneath him, tapping at the chrysalis a second time. He was so eager to meet his new brother.
