- THE LEVIATHAN -

Vargas' head tilted briefly to and fro in consideration of Ruby-Beta's words--as if to mirror a sort of 'ehhh, sort of' thought process. "As a long-time Overseer, allow me to correct one of those remarks. You say that they were better than her! But there is no single metric by which we are judged. Each creature, each creation, each of these--Gembound--has strengths and weaknesses. I would have bet a fang--a good one, too!--that Palefur would have been a better hunter in the dark than any of the creatures there." A pause. "Any I can remember, anyway!" Another short, barked laugh. "But there are weaknesses and strengths in all of us, yes. But do not ever forget: even among the eldest of us, we are never done training. There is still much that I might learn, given time and someone to teach me. Even Garnet-Delta has provided me new tactics, through its resourcefulness, that I had not considered over millennia of hunting!" A brilliant one, too, and he couldn't even claim that he hadn't held the same magic. He had. He'd just never thought of it, before. "So never consider your training finished. For now your compromise is perhaps a good one, except that I intend to have Garnet-Delta arrange further training, and I hope that you both will have more young ones to teach, and more importantly, to practice with. Hunting Lessers will only get you so far. Go on, then," he finished, unaware that Ruby-Beta had already tried.
