ORIGIN

Chaos-Two generally hung out in Pegasus when he wasn't with Doctor or Kethri (admittedly she was learning some neat things, like poultices, salves, and poisons- but he wasn't learning that last thing). But because no one could stand Kethri for more than an hour or so at a time without wanting to strangle her, they were here, in Pegasus, taking a break.

They were laying down in some flowers, basking in the sun, away from Vargas and the others so they couldn't call them lazy. It was just... nice out here.

Hopefully no one disturbed them, unless it was like Khavur or something.

This cave was pretty, Esther had decided. It was nice, soft, had all the plants anyone could ever want. This cave was exactly the opposite of the one the Chaos-Forge resided in. Though that other place was beautiful, too. The crystals that covered it, the colors the place was bathed in. The two were very different but almost alike in how they were. The maned wolf had been exploring, really, for the most part. They weren't needed much by the group, which was interesting. Esther did want to start working on their magic more, now that they had a reason to do it. To help destroy 'mother'... It sounded like it would be a daunting task for the group.

Before they got too far, Esther's darkened eyes caught sight of a familiar form. The one that also had been there when they were trying to join. its horns were kind of cool, Esther decided they were almost jealous of those spindly horns that jutted out of the gembound's head.

"It's you." The maned wolf said.

Chaos-Two lifted their head and stared at Esther for a moment, blinking slowly.

"It is, indeed, me," they said dryly, rolling over and standing, stretching out their back with a soft sigh before pushing themselves to two legs, their ears flicking up and facing Esther.

"... You're bold to have come here to join us," they noted, "What made you so interested in us in the first place?"

Esther definitely could have been smushed like a bug if Vargas hadn't been in a good mood. Either the maned wolf was brave as Hell or stupid as Hell, and Chaos-Two didn't know which was better in this instance. Or in general. Perhaps cluelessness could be it too.

This one seemed to be thinking about something. From what they'd seen of it, the gembound seemed pretty smart. Whether or not it actually used that smartness Esther didn't know. it didn't matter to them, anyway, as Esther wasn't in charge of that kind of thing. Vargas and Oro were. (They totally didn't care that Orthoclase-Alpha hated that nickname as a child).

"The fight with the golem made me curious." Esther replied to that. They certainly had helped, and had helped other gembound be cured of... 'Mother' Vargas had called it. it was more than that, that made the maned wolf curious, really. A lot of it was the explinations that the big one gave.

"And so did the answers to my questions."

"Curiosity killed the cat," they said, and smirked, "Satisfaction brought it back. Too many questions could get you in a bad spot, I'd recommend you keep such things to yourself unless specifically told. Around here, good things come to those who wait."

Chaos-Two slowly rose to their feet, standing a good 7 feet tall now. They snorted and shook themselves out, cracking their back and knuckles before turning towards the meadow.

"So... why are you here?", they asked, "Here with me, when you could be training, or anything else, really."

That one seemed smart, about the questions. However, Esther was told to ask them in the first place, they simply got the answers to the questions they were seeking out. "My questions did get answered though, didn't they?" Esther wondered if it was unusual, but the other gembound didn't seem too surprised at the time. Vargas told them to ask, so Esther did. At least it seemed like it - they couldn't really remember the entire conversation. It was a lot to think about.

Being asked what they were doing there, Esther didn't know. It wasn't like they were restricted to doing specific things anyway.

"I hadn't really planned to run into you here, you know." The maned wolf replied. Esther wasn't tailing the other gembound.

Chaos-Two seemed to deflate a bit and looked away, "Fair. No one really comes looking for me unless Vargas told them to."

They were quiet for a moment before they inhaled, "Apologies for being blunt, but at the moment you're as useless to them as I am. So... what's your plan?"

They were curious, perhaps seeking to aid or to steal some ideas for themselves. Though the latter they wouldn't do, mostly because a plan had already been laid out.

"You'd make a good scout," they pointed out, "You're normal looking, unassuming. Aside from the goo. People trust a creature like you more than they trust tusks and quills and sharp edges. You ought to seek out Garnet-Delta."

Esther shrugged, it wasn't like the two knew one another well. Though they were kind of curious if the other gembound used their horns for anything. It was... Cool. Esther almost wished they got their own horns when they changed - they still didn't know where the wings sprouted from but they were there and had been there for a while so it didn't matter much. Esther wasn't going to admit the horns being cool just yet, though. Maybe at a later date.

"Vargas said the goal of this... Group was to get rid of what he called 'mother'. Since it doesn't effect me I suppose I could be useful for that. Which means training." They replied. There wasn't much else they really could do yet.

A scout?

"What would I be scouting for?" The maned wolf questioned curiously. "And who's Garnet-Delta?"

Chaos-Two almost laughed. Almost.

"That is but one of our goals," they said, "Our main goal is to protect the caves, yes. But we're supposed to be raising chaos beasts, like I and my siblings, so that they can become harbingers of chaos and destruction for Lord Dhracia. She visits sometimes, though I've only seen her once. She's terrifying."

Even Vargas, despite being bigger and extremely powerful, respected her.

"Magic isn't really something Vargas looks for in his troops, but since you're not exactly his spawn, you can use magic to your advantage," they said, "Garnet-Delta is one of his. A cat-like creature, a little beast in its own right. Not particularly nice but not downright mean, either. Garnet-Epsilon, too, isn't nice, but they have a bigger soft spot. Either of them would be willing to train you. In combat, magic, the art of assassinations and spywork. Though you ought to speak to Vargas about a plan."

"But what you'll be scouting for? Well... that's a question to ask Vargas," they mumbled.
