Garnet-Epsilon
The last few weeks had been... rough. The Chaos Forge now stood in Epsilon's mind as their allegiance, the... well, chaos of entering Draco and then the ensuing few days there, the long and frankly painful journey leaves it exhausted, looking slightly wan, and pitifully clutching some rough lichen from some caves on the way back to line their new home- no. Temporary den.
Most disturbingly, Cirrus has felt... something change in their magic. The area where more grounded magic had shimmered and cut, the spikes of glass that they'd used so often before now gone and replaced by something... new.
Incorporeal, and vaguely ominous.
Tempting, in all it's unknown curiosity and uses.
Maybe I'll see someone I can talk to, out here, is their excuse, and they roll the bundle up against the base of the Tower, glancing up and up and
up before they shake their head, and take a deep breath, finally grabbing the new writhing magic and forcing it out into the Caves through their Gem, bracing for whatever will happen...
Nothing. Just a vague burning in their jaw, and a flicker of pain like they'd bitten into a sharp bone, but they can shake it off easily with an upset whine and a relatively juvenile stomp of a foot, and slapping their tail into the side of the tower with an impressively loud slap.

The wolf had rounded the corner to spot Epsilon siting and inspecting their tail, almost nursing it because
ow slapping the stone
hurt, thank you.
Looking up, and up at Comet, the hybrid kind of flushes blue in embarrassment, offering a sheepish smile and setting down their tail like they'd been caught with something illegal.
"Ah, sorry? Did I spook you? I'm practicing some new magic of mine, but its..." their face folds into something concerned, and they paw at their jaw, looking bothered,
"A bit odd. I'll figure it out, I guess?" a low chuckle, and they now stand up.
There's an awkward beat, and then Cirrus's ears swing forward and face the white wolf- and they recognize her, all the sudden-
"W-wait. Are you... Comet, by any chance?" Some of their earlier scouting added to James's stories mad brought to mind an admittedly... more roughed up canine than the graceful and composed individual in front of them.
"M'names Cirrus." Its spoken like a sort of peace offering, and they wag their tail, part of them happy to meet the kiddo- erm. James's daughter.

Epsilon watches the canine's body language change, and so they're ready when the young Gembound pounces- and they roll with the strike, twisting so that all of their feet are now placed against the long, lithe leg of Comet and nails digging in. Their eyes are narrow, and face crinkled up in a defensive snarl, trying to pull on their magic to spark some sort of defense, distantly thinking...
Huh. Seems like stepping on suspicious figures is a norm for this family.
Seems like apparently Epsilon has gotten Nemo's bad luck with magic, cause all that happens is a white noise-like crackle and pop, before Cirrus forces out-
"H... H'can't breath..." from under Comets foot, and they sink their claws in more in attempting to push her foot off,
"What is wh.. with you 'n James stepping 'n meh..." wheezing out with their effort.

The rise in anger makes Geppie hiss defensively - oh Delta wouldn't let them ever live that down - and the baring of teeth simply pulls another low, almost avian rolling caw-growl from the hybrid.
I was out here, minding my own business- I'll kick your tail, you whelp-
Epsilon's internal monologue is vitriolic, something in the small hybrid having snapped and the sudden lapse in sanity could be apparent in the sudden slit pupils and bright blue behind their scales, down their wings, and around their beak if one were to look, almost like when one's face turns red before they start to scream in rage.
"Get" Kick-
"OFF!" Epsilon is flailing, now, hind feet kicking up and aiming for the chest of the creature above them, but their real plan is quite simple- if the kid wants to pick a random fight, random is what she'll get-
Chaos is what she'll get.
"I haven't DONE anything! You brat, I'm the babysitter!"
But the smack across the face makes Epsilon freeze. And a sudden heat begins to build up under the wolf's paw- energy building in Epsilon's stone to defend themselves. Looks like the universe
really wants Epsilon to figure out what this new spell can do, huh?
Good for nothing, the spell does nothing, only a small wave of heat and a small pressure like something wiggling under the pups paw is the result from Epsilon's attempt, and this draws a frustrated shriek and an added,
"If this day gets any worse I'll ask you to snap my neck, but I've had a HORRIBLE few days, so if you would stop being a savage, get off of me!" with more flailing and kicking, because I'mma play it safe with things I may to roll for here.

As soon as Comet disengages, Epsilon flips and flies itself up to a jutting brick up on the tower, scrambling to fit itself on the small perch and keeping one eye on Comet at all times, flushed blue in panic and pupils dilated wide.
The hybrid says nothing, remaining silent, and out of reach as it waits and watches, hackles high and feathers fluffed out.
A deep breath, to see how bad it's chest hurts- a dull pain, getting stepped on hurts man, especially on the Gem- but we'll see how it bruises, if at all.
A soft wheeze when they open their mouth, a clearing of the throat.
"Go ask James. You won't believe me if I answer." Not even hostile, but a bit... condescending? Resigned? Who knows, Epsilon doesn't, and it takes to the skies again and wings off.
