Attikias panted as he kept the spear between them, shielding his face from an impending bite. Of course a nasty creature would try and harm him, and maybe he could use the metal spear as leverage between them.
A tug on his weapon took him for surprise. It wasn't going for a kill, at least, then? It was going for his spear- or it was smart enough to actually take that out before anything. Either way, it was
still a danger, and it was still way too close.
At this angle, though, he could try and tug down one of its many heads and kick up, aiming to hit some form of weak, squishy point. 'Course, all of it looked weak and squishy, so he was just aiming for
it.
Round: 3/?
Attempt: Kick upwards, at its neck, chest, gut, or
something.
Defense: N/A
Injuries: N/A
@Effluvium
Attik's kick found Effluvium's stomach. Or, at least, what constituted for one. It's breath came short, for a moment. The hit damaged it, but not in a way it'd immediately recognize. It felt...stiffer. Yet it wasn't painful in a way that slicing claws next to bone was for Effluvium. Regardless, the hit had Effluvium growing annoyed.
It wanted the weird gembound to leave. And the fact its gut was beginning to feel strange didn't help. It growled, guttural and deep. It dug its claws into the earth, and adjusted its loose grip on Attikias' spear. Somehow, making its grip even worse. Then, Effluvium attempted to pull back.
"When I speak."
When I think.
Round: 4/?
Attempt: Pull on Attikias' spear?
Defense: N/A
Injuries: A few teeth knocked loose, bruisy tummy :(

He paused as it breathed out over him, expecting
some recoil of pain. But- Was it just
pure meat? Did it not get hurt? Breathing hard, he continued this tug of war against the beast, still trying to push against it.
But when it pulled back, Attikias almost lifted off the ground with it. Surprise took him as his heart pounded. What did this thing have against him?! Did it not get the concept of a home invasion?
Maybe he could use its weight against itself. Tugging just slightly, Attikias squinted up before pushing
forward, trying to jolt it upwards with the motion of its pull and struggling to sidestep to shove its head into the dirt. It would be a hard action- one that could easily be interrupted, but at least the monster was doing half of the task for him at this point.
Round: 4/?
Attempt: Pull himself up with the tugs and use the momentum to shove
Efflu down instead.
Defense: N/A
Injuries: N/A
@Effluvium
Effluvium had been expecting some resistance. It had been expecting to pull the spear out of Attikias' hands. But Attikias not only rose with the spear, but pushed back. A strangled noise of surprise left it. Effluvium could feel its' bulk still continuing the motion. Its' front limbs scrambled to grasp at the dirt beneath. To resist the fall.
And found little purchase. It shut its' eyes. Effluvium's head was the first to hit the ground with an audible 'thunk', and the rest of its body followed soon after. Its eyes blinked open. The irritation grew. It hissed, morphing into an angry growl.
"When I speak."
When I think.
Round: 5/?
Attempt: Resist fall?
Defense: trying to stand
Injuries: A few teeth knocked loose, bruisy tummy, bruisy face side :(
@Attikias

He was pissing it off. Good. If it got angry enough, it might leave, and he'd have some
piece without
more smashed urns.
Why did creatures keep breaking them, anyways? Shaking his head, Attikias returned to the situation at hand, pulling himself up and over to keep Efflu pinned to the ground. It may not be hard to shove him off with just the weight of his body on its, but soon it was accompanied by another shove of its face into the dirt.
He could feel his grip slipping, his palms growing sweaty with the effort as his thoughts were drowned out by his own heartbeat. Foolishly, he leaned in, breath hot and panting as he spoke.
"You need to leave. Now." He accented the order with another shove of its head into the ground.
Round: 5/?
Attempt: Keep Efflu down by keeping its face on the ground
Defense: N/A
Injuries: N/A
@Effluvium

Whatever this beast was, it seemed adamant to keep its words withdrawn for whatever reason. Was it even sapient? No, but its shove back drove a small shock of fear into Attikias, and his eyes opened wide.
He scrambled off after it tried to snap at him. Was it getting tired, too? Attikias breathed in, and breathed out, his breaths laborious as he kept the spear-point aimed right at Effluvium's head. No, he couldn't risk it. Baring his teeth back, Attikias hissed and whipped his tail, glaring at the beast.
"Leave!" He steeled himself for an attack, standing back and levying the weapon between them.
Round: 6/?
Attempt: stand there... MENACINGLY
Defense: Aiming towards Efflu in preparation of another attack
Injuries: Gettin' a little tired
@Effluvium
Effluvium drooled. It stood there, making no attempt to move forward nor leave. Something felt terribly wrong. Effluvium shifted a paw, considering attacking, and its torso shifted with it. Pain tore through its insides. Whereas pain was dulled towards its exterior, the inside was normal. And as the pottery shards tore at its stomach, it felt everything. Heightened, almost. It coughed, the drool turning a tinge of red, scraps of pottery leaking out. It snarled at Attikias, somehow taking this as an attack, despite the new distance between them.
The vibrations of its own throat had it in pain again. It snapped its jaws shut, eying Attikias warily. The pain never stopped. Suddenly it turned. It'd had enough of this dude. And the pain. Effluvium had misjudged it as weaker than it truly was. Effluvium crawled away with a slow, shuffling gait. It didn't stop to grasp at anything it missed, already in enough pain as it was. The only thing on its basal mind was to go find a spot to lie down in pain for a solid five or six hours.
"When I speak."
When I think.
;exit unless stopped due to big hurt
@Attikias
Attikias stared it down. What was it doing? He took in a heavy breath- it was just standing there. Why wasn't it leaving?
It moved. Attikias shoved his spear forward ineffectively, backing up an inch. It kept staring, and he kept breathing, and his back was hurting, and so was his shoulder- Could it move on, please?
And it did. It was starting to shamble away, and Attikias let his muscles go loose, sighing loudly. The threat was defeated (or, fended off), and he was safe, and his family was safe. Good. Fine. He needed a nap after that one.
As if he'd get one. No, he'd sit there at his camp for some time, just watching it warily, making sure no other pots got smashed tonight or that thing came back. Eventually, maybe he'd fall asleep- but not now. Not yet. He had a camp to watch.
