The bubbling of the river close by seemed to lull the boy into a doze.

Coarsely-haired ears twitched, flicking away a multitude of flies as they came to swarm like a magnet to metal to Jasiri. One or two of the teeny insects crawled between his eyes, hopping up toward his forehead. An audible groan of moderate irritation made itself known from within the lion's throat. Fluttering open a closed eye, he lifted up one great tawny paw to swat at the bugs. "Ugh. Gross." Nevertheless, the annoyance lasted for only a brief few seconds, as moments later Jasiri was again his usual, contented self.

Lush, green blades of grass tickled at his flanks, sending a tingling shudder, perhaps two, rippling down Jasiri's neat spine. The amber-hued eyes grew heavy once again, till eventually they drifted shut. The sounds of the stream nearby hummed in his ears, and truth be told Jasiri rather enjoyed the noise. It was... pleasing, not that he needed too many stress relievers at the moment. As far as he was concerned, life had been going finely. Smoothly, actually. Nothing too particularly interesting had transpired as of late, and Jasiri was ever so grateful.

The large feline had made the decision to make a trip to Pegasus, mostly to relax, and also just to experience something new. Again, it wasn't as though he actually required any coaxers. But lately he had been feeling, admittedly, quite bored.

Maybe someone would come up. Who knew. Though, in all honesty, Jasiri was enjoying hanging out around himself.

@Comet

Comet's steps were heavy, bearing the burden of the knowledge that once again, she had failed. She was unable to shake the fact, or so she thought, that James was in his chrysalis all because of her. She hadn't known that the consequences of failure were so horrible, or that there really were any at all. But James had gone to take Emuh's trial, and now he was in a chrysalis. If only she had tried to stop him from going!

Lost in her thoughts, she padded alongside the river, watching her distorted reflection in the running water. Her coat was a dirty brown from lack of cleaning, so Comet jumped into the river. The water washed off the brown from her fur, and carried it away. She submerged her head for a second, making sure that she was fully clean before continuing through Pegasus.

The occasional crunch of a leaf and the sound of rustling grass was all that announced the wolf's presence as she proceeded with long strides along the riverbank. Oh-- who was that? Seemed like a lion... Aristotle? No, of course it wasn't, Aristotle was dead. So who was this? "Hello?" she called out to the lion.

@Jasiri

He went on, ears curling to press contentedly back against the skull; the ripples meandered into his mind, continuing to dry out his stresses and instead replace them with relaxed images. Images of nothing in particular, yet they were nevertheless appreciated thoughts. A firefly or two buzzed above, he realized whenever he was to flutter open a yellow eye.

And then, there was the glow of something else. Something much bigger, with a saturated-looking coat that stuck out like a sore thumb against the display of grasses.

The head came to lift wearily up, eyes crusting open. With one forepaw he rubbed at his eyes, trying to better adjust to his surroundings so that he could take in what stood before him. The strides of the figure's slender legs mixed in with the river's murmuring, and Jasiri couldn't help but repress a little smile of... smugness? Huh. Who knew.

With a toss of his mane Jasiri rose to all fours, bushily-tipped tail flicking behind him as he pranced forward to greet the feminine creature. A wolf, they appeared to be, upon closer inspection. "Ey there," he responded, the words derived as a grunt from his pharynx. "Need somethin?" A question of mere curiosity, and nothing but. Though there was, admittedly, just the faintest glint of sympathy in the lion's eyes. Something was telling him this wolf seemed... stressed.
