No reason not to? We have space enough around here, anyways," Attikias responded, tapping his heel idly on the log he was on. "I mean- I know it's no replacement, but you don't need to replace it, y'know? It might be good for you to have that sort of bond with someone again."
His head tilted as he spoke, giving her a brief closed-eye smile. He paused, though, as tears dotted her eyes, concern flashing over his face. Crap, he did mean to make her happy, but he didn't mean to maker her cry! His hands came off of his legs and one reached to her shoulder again, reassuringly.
"You don't need to repay me." His voice was quiet as he leaned down to her level. A few gentle pats of her shoulder later and he was straightening up, the other going to the gem atop his shoulder. "I did kind of want to do something as a gift for the rest of them, if you wanna watch." He made his way to the table again, to the leather he'd left, and frowned to it.
No. Put the idea of battle out of your mind, Attikias. Gingerly, he removed his hand from his shoulder and pulled the work away, letting it rest gently on the rest of the leather nearby."I've never actually made a necklace before, but I've got the sort of idea, and I've got the materials for a cord, so I figure it'd be nice." Just gotta figure out how to get a gem to adhere to it.
He glanced over his shoulder at Lyra, then half-turned his body to her, thinking with his hand back over his gem."If you want, you can take the Elenya name? Make yourself part of the family that way, too- only if you want to, though." With that, he surged magic into the gem and winced as it popped off into a small sliver. Fingers danced around previous shallow cuts as he retrieved the piece and held it up between his index finger and thumb.
"Hm. This looks a little small, but it might work. Wanted to leave behind something uh- just in case, ah," he stalled, looking to the table and idly playing with a thin leather cord. No. He shook his head and cleared his throat, looking back to Lyra. "Unless you'd want to have it? I can always just make some that isn't me, if it's all gonna end up this small."
