Broad furred paws carried the little lioness cub through the jungle, over a well worn path. This path led from the treehouse to a small clearing where one could be left alone to practice their magic. She had told Sun where she was going, Comet had told her and Sprig of the place not far away that was safe for them to be left to their own devices. The last time she had come here, she had been with her brother Sprig. Which had been very fun, she had taken the time to walk him through finding and calling on his magic rather than just relying on it happening on its own. She had figured it out on her own how to do it.
By no means was the little carnivore being quiet as she trotted through the underbrush, causing birds and jungle deer to scatter far and wide. It also sent rats and mice scurrying for their dens. Of course she wasn’t hunting today so she didn’t need to be quiet, but she also didn’t think of the need to not scare everything away from the area for a time. But then she was just a child what was she to think of the larger picture right now. A few more moments passed before the little girl burst from the underbrush and out into the clearing.
Taking a deep breath the girl stopped and let out a deep happy sigh. Bright pale blue eyes cast about the clearing noting that it was empty as she had hoped, which was part of the reason she hadn’t been quiet. To give anything in the clearing time to either runaway or leave the area. The girl shook her body sending a leaf that had gotten stuck to her head fluttering to the ground as she made her way to a new spot in the clearing. The little girl did as she always did. Falling into a standing position with one forepaw outstretched. The girl closed her eyes and turned inward looking for that brilliant green magic within her. The magic came easily causing the gem on her forehead to glow a brilliant green for a single flash that quickly faded. As it faded a new bud had wormed its way up in front of her and quickly bloomed into a beautiful flower.
James made his way towards the clearing, rested and feeling a lot better. He stopped at the edge and stared, eyes sad. She looked so much like her father...
He walked forward and around her, peering at the blooming flower with gooey eyes. He couldn't be prouder of the children.
He was quiet as he watched her, ears forward, wings fluffed up and tucked in, his mane and tail braided again. He'd have to cut them eventually, both were getting long.
Adonia smiled brightly as she looked down at the new bright red bloom. She wasn’t sure what kind of flower it was that she had grown, but it sure was pretty. Of course the flowers around her chrysalis were absolutely beautiful but the flowers she found out in the wild or grew out in the open, they just seemed so much more. Though she knew the flowers in the treehouse were special as they had grown with the last ounce of her Father’s magic. The little girl smiled down at the flower. This having been the first time she had ever actually managed to make a flower BLOOM! She had made them grow into buds, but now she could actually make them fully bloom! The little girl giggled brightly and squirmed in place for a moment.
Her little moment was quickly interrupted by a familiar voice from behind her. Standing up she brought a brilliant smile to her muzzle and turned around.
When he said she was already blooming she scrunched her face a bit confused. She didn’t know what he meant, like a flower? How was she like a flower? Shaking it off she beamed up at Renny as he spoke of his friend.
Adonia looked up at Renny sitting down with her ever present bright smile.
James nosed the flower and hummed,
He lifted his head and hummed,
He bumped his nose against Adonia and hummed softly, eyes closing. He breathed out and looked up again, considering.
He looked around for something to eat, looking up into the trees. He stood on his hind legs and jumped, wings flapping hard as he reached up, grabbing a branch and shaking it, fruit falling to the ground. He dropped down and shook himself off, turning around to eat one, humming happily.
Adonia tilted her head as Renny reached down nosing her flower then he spoke. Then she actually understood what he meant by she was blooming.
Adonia lifted both of her front paws in turn half kneading the grass with her paws, as she listened to Renny speak. She perked up eagerly at the thought of learning more magic.
Adonia nodded as Renny assured her that he was well rested.
Lifting her head she happily chewed her bite and looked up before heading back to her flower. She spit out the seed which had been what she was after. Digging a small hole the girl placed the seed in the hole and covered it. She smiled as he asked what her plans were.
James nodded,
He shrugged after a few moments,
He focused on his magic and decided to start small. Just a few wisps. He needed the magical practice, maybe it would help him face his trial if he ever decided to try again.
The wisp popped into existence, a blue and purple flame that floated in the air, moving this way and that as James willed it. He smiled and lowered it so Adonia could see.
He floated the wisp away, grinning,
Adonia let out an excited squeal as she pranced running in place happily. If someone could teach her more magic, that would mean so very much! She could move forward in her magic practice much faster with a mentor to teach her.
The young lioness hmmed in thought tilting her head to one side as her tail twitched in thought. She could show Renny her newest spell, maybe that would make him happy? Show him what she had learned to do.
Adonia looked up at Renny as he focused. Then her eyes went wide and began to glimmer brightly as the little wisp popped into existence in front of her. A sharp excited gasp left the girl as she looked at the wisp.
Adonia stood still for a moment as Renny moved the wisp around, her head tilted to one side as she thought. A game of tag with the wisp? What would happen if she caught it? It did sound fun!
James smiled,
The wisp floated up and zipped off, bobbing up and down as it made its way around the clearing, moving with James' movements. A smirk appeared on the stallion's face as he decided to throw another into the mix. A second wisp popped into existence and followed the first, the two twining around each other in a dance.
A simple spell to hold, thankfully, and he could summon as many as he wanted before getting tired.
Adonia grinned brightly and nodded.
Looking over at Renny the girl smiled brightly. Taking a deep breath the girl calmed herself. She closed her eyes as she focused inward looking for that brilliant green colored magic she knew was there. It came rather easily as it seemed to be often doing now. As it came to her the garnet stone on her head began to glow a soft green color. Slowly she guided the magic down and out of her paw and into the ground, where a small flower bud sprang up. The green glow only lasted a few seconds, in reality as long as it took to cast the spell.
As Renny took off with the little glowing wisps in toe, Adonia let out a bright clear laugh as she launched into a run. Her massive paws were much too large for her body, carrying her much slower than they would in future days. But today they carried her fast enough to chase the horse. The girl laughed brightly as she chased after Renny and the wisps, she jumped a few times her paws reaching for the wisp before falling back to the ground as she picked herself up and began running again.
James laughed merrily and approached the plant, ears perked forward,
He darted off as he saw Adonia come from behind, cackling like mad as he cantered around the clearing, having one Hell of a time. He looked around, wondering if there was anything else to demonstrate.
Where he stepped, mushrooms grew, in all colors, red, white, black, even blue. Some glowed, some were spotted.
James trotted along, tail raised and wings held out slightly. He smiled as he left the trail behind him, hoping to wow and amaze Adonia.
