A bright grin spread across Sigurd’s muzzle as he realized his new companion got the hint of what he was trying to do. The young wolf cub took off at a dead run, for once his paws and legs agreed to work together rather than embarrass him. They carried him down along the river bank with his companion hot on his heels. As he ran Sigurd was laughing like an idiot as he ran away from the large moose.

As they ran, Sigurd felt his companions' muzzle barely bump against his rump. With the ungrace of a newborn giraffe on caffeine, Sigurd turned on his heels and took off after the white moose. He followed close on the moose’s hooves, his speed slowing as he splashed into the chest deep water and ran as fast as he could, which wasn’t very fast at all, through the water and up the other bank of the river. He had fallen a bit behind as the water had slowed him down, but all the while he was laughing giddily.

With his paws and legs actually works for once the young wolf cub caught up to the moose calf, it took him a minute or two after splashing through the river but he managed to catch up and leaped up using a paw to smack at Cygnus’ butt and dart off towards the east east side of the cave, his head down and ears back as he ran for a more streamlined effect.

Cygnus gasped as he was touched, laughing and turning around before galloping towards the other, giggling like mad. This was fun!!

The fawn galloped after Sigurd, struggling to bed his neck to touch the other. He ended up stumbling and crashing to the ground in a squealing heap, but quickly got up, shaking it off. He wasn't graceful quite yet.

He trotted forward, continuing after Sigurd, before getting his legs under him and taking off after the other, cooing softly.

Sigurd grinned laughing happily as he barrelled ahead. Bright green eyes shining with joy as he raced across the well kept lawn. His large paws thudding against the ground as he ran. His gangly legs pumped hard to carry the young pup ahead of his pursuer. He was having more fun than he ever had in his short life. That wasn’t saying much though as he hadn’t really been alive more than a couple weeks. So he was for all intents and purposes really playing for the first time, and he absolutely loved it beyond anything he had done so far. Playing was absolutely wonderful!

Sigurd caught the sound of his companion hitting the ground and him squealing. Quickly the cub turned wide to make sure his new friend was alright. But seeing his friend was alright the wolf poured on speed and zipped away across the moose’s vision grinning broadly and giggling like a child on a sugar high. It seemed for the time being the young wolf was able to avoid his wondrously fun pursuer. How could not be having fun, he was racing across an open area playing with his new friend, at least he hoped they might become friends.

Cygnus galloped after Sigurd, slowly but surely getting his legs back under him. He quickly caught up, his legs longer than the other's, trying to nip at his tail. The moose managed to tap the other and skid to a stop, backing up before taking off in the other direction.

"Ahaha!! Fun!!", he cried out behind him, galloping down the river like it was nothing, barely slowing down.

He stopped when he came to a pond, wisely giving it a wide berth, not wanting to upset any Hellswans. They were scary, even when they didn't attack. Ugh...

The young wolf was pleased to find his friend catching up with him so easily after having taken a spill like he had. And even so the wolf raced on feeling the moose brush the hairs of his tail a few times. Then he finally caught up and bumped him. The young wolf let out a pleased and joyous giggle as he turned hot on his own heels. This time it was a sharp turn not a wide berth like he had done when he was checking on his friend.

A bright grin spread over his muzzle as his friend cried out in his own joyous words. ”So much fun!” Sigurd called out ahead of him in response to his friend. The young wolf raced after the moose calf, his gangly legs pumping hard. He noted that his friend gave the pond a wide berth for some reason, but taking a queue from his friend the young wolf followed hot in his tracks.

Sigurd caught up to the moose calf rather quickly when he paused at the pond. The young wolf ran up behind the calf bumping his leg with his head and easily taking a sharp turn away from the area of the pond. He wasn’t entirely sure how he had managed to get away from the young moose as fast as he already was, but not being sure if the moose would be able to make such a sharp turn the wolf slowed down ever so slightly to make sure he was okay before picking up speed again.

Cygnus galloped after Sigurd for a few paces before stopping, panting. He shook his head and bleated, taking a few steps forward before wandering to the pond to take a drink, legs spread awkwardly so he could bend his head down to quench his thirst.

He looked back up at Sigurd, his little tail shaking gently, before he trotted forward towards the other, bored with tag and hungry again.

"Hi," he said softly, one ear flicking, "... Am Cygnus."

He knew his name from the moment he'd seen the swans swimming in the ponds.

"You?", he asked next.

Sigurd raced ahead just happy to have made a friend. Then his attention was caught as his new friend made another noise he didn’t understand. It wasn’t like the one he had made when he fell, no this was different more like he was trying to get his attention. Sigurd’s ears shifted back to fully catch the sound, as his paws reacted instantly causing him to stumble a step but quickly recover and keep from face planting. The young wolf slowed to a trot and turned his path to come back towards his friend.

Coming up beside his friend the young wolf dipped his head to the water lapping at the water. Finally quenching his thirst the young wolf lifted his head, licking his lips and smiled up at his friend who was waving his tail. Sigurd couldn’t help it as he began to wave enthusiastically behind him.

Sigurd instantly perked up as he heard words leave his friends' mouth. ”Hi!” Sigurd greeted with great enthusiasm his bright green eyes sparkling with joy that his friend had found some words. ”I’m Sigurd.” The young wolf offered his name puffing up a bit with pride as he did so. He was proud of his name and it sounded strong and reliable.

Then Sigurd couldn’t but wonder. What had he been playing with? Now that he stopped for a second he realized just how tasty his new friend smelled. He quickly pushed that thought out of his mind. It wasn’t polite to eat your friends, and they had played far too long not to be friends. ”I’m a wolf, What’re you?” He wanted to know exactly what his friend was, though he doubted he would ever find out why he thought his new friend Cygnus smelled good. But here and now he made a vow to himself to always protect Cygnus and never eat him. The young wolf pup smiled up at his friend bright green eyes curious.

Cygnus cocked his head, confused. Was the other 'Awolf' or 'Sigurd'? He wasn't sure if 'Awolf' was two words or not, but it wasn't like he could ask.

"... Am Cygnus," he said again, wondering if the other hadn't heard him say his name before.

If he knew what Sigurd was thinking, he'd probably run for the hills. Thankfully, he didn't, so he just started munching on grass instead.

Tired, he walked off, sniffing at bushes before flopping down and fitting underneath, snuggling into a little divot in the ground. He was going to take a NAP now.

Confused when explained what he was aside from who he was. The moose seemed completely confused by this concept. He simply replied by stating his name again. The young wolf nodded and smiled. How could he make Cygnus understand what he meant. That he was a wolf named Sigurd. This seemed to be a bit to complicated for the young wolf as his eye twitched involuntarily as he tried to figure this out. The young wolf blinked several times and just smiled at the moose.

”I’m Sigurd.” The young wolf repeated with a broad smile. He still didn’t know how to make his new friend understand what he was. Sigurd watched as his friend moved off toward a bush and laid down. Sitting there a wide yawn parted the young wolf’s jaws finally showing his two rows of razor sharp baby teeth. It was now that the young wolf realized he himself was getting tired as well.

Sigurd trotted over to where Cygnus lay down, he sniffed at the moose and nudged him once. He wondered if his friend would mind if he shared his bed with him. This close Sigurd realized the amount of heat that the moose gave off, and he longed to press himself against it. The young wolf let out a soft pleading whine asking to join him. ”Cuddle?” That was the word that came to mind when the young wolf wanted to lay down close to his friend. He hoped that his friend would approve of him laying down, but the young wolf waited for his friends approval.

"Sig... urd," he repeated, his tail wagging.

He liked that!

Cygnus shifted so Sigurd had room, moving his legs so he wouldn't end up laying on them or being poked, nodding. Of course the other could cuddle, what a silly question.

"Sleepy," he said softly, yawning also before setting his head down.

The moose stretched out and sighed, letting his eyes close. His breaths were soft and his little chest rose and fell slowly. Comforted by his new friend, he fell asleep.
