Azure had moved around, a little. She'd lived in Orion for a time, and then a fucking dragon had razed it, and so she and Dip had moved to Monoceros.
Where more dragons lived. It would've been nice to say that those dragons were more friendly, but one had knocked Azure into her chrysalis in a rage, so maybe not. But they'd lived there peacefully otherwise. Dip was her adopted sister, and a wonderful person, an excellent smith--someone Azure looked up to and loved, despite having half-raised her herself. Dip had made a nice little forge there in a small cave of sorts, a den, and had learned from others--and through trial and error--how to form and repair weapons and armor. But Monoceros was a dead end cave, without much trade for... well, anything, really.
Eventually, they'd returned to Orion, where the trading had more potential--travelling back and forth between the two caves. Though the ruins here were blackened and often crumbled by Raheerah's dragonfire, they'd gone through the painstaking process of repairing and decorating another home. Baubled lights were strung up through this ruined building on the outskirts of the ruins; tanned leather and woven cloth rugs and blankets lay here and there as beds and coverings. Splashes of dye--some illuminated as though with carpets of glowing stars--streaked the walls, testament to Azure's practice in her artistic endeavors. And the signs of craftsmanship were everywhere. Though the building itself was made of ancient, crumbled stone, and though the scent of flowers brought in still mingled with charred rock, there were little signs of life everywhere. Translucent gemstones had been formed, perfectly smooth and polished, around magically-preserved flowers and bits of fern; many emitted a soft glow, and others still were hung on cords. Bits of scrap metal and leather, grindstone and coal, lay at one end of the house: Dip's end, where she worked when they were in Orion.
Azure flew, Dewberry coiled around one antler, as low, slow and smoothly as she could. She didn't want to scare her other sort-of-adopted-sister, and she listened closely for any call to stop, or land, in case Dewberry became scared.
Eventually she came to a clattering halt just outside her Orion home, the soft glow inside a welcome one, and here she paused. "If Dip's awake--she's really nice, and you'll like her. But she might be asleep, or out. We'll get you settled, though, and if you want, I can help you look for something to eat? I've some water in there, too, in a bowl."
She paced for the doorway--a large woven mat of grass hung from it, like a door, and this she nudged aside with her pointed beak. "But tell me what you think of it! You can stay as long as you want." She'd reiterated this several times, but there it was again; she felt for Dewberry, she hoped that her sister was as kind as she seemed, and... that she could help her make things right, in her life.
Caves knew how alone she'd felt, after the Bloodberries mess.
