Appearance: Mostly having the body and colors of a Sulmatler rooster, this hybrid is also characterized by its deer-like head, including antlers, and the pale speckles across its body reminiscent of its Life-giver. The child will be about three feet tall at the top of its head (not including antlers), and weighs about eighteen pounds (most of the weight being in the antlers). The hybrid is probably too heavy to fly effectively, being a little over twice the usual weight of a rooster. The feet are a strange hybrid between those of a chicken and those of a deer -- they appear as elongated hooves with three prongs, and a single rooster-like dewclaw on the edges.

Appearance: [Character name] is a hybrid of a deer and a horse, and with the stone horn in the center of their forehead, looks exactly like your typical unicorn. They have cloven hooves and thin legs with a thick rump and chest and a tight waist. Their tail is a hairless version of a horse one, with a tuft of fur at the end. They are a dark bay with light deer speckles all over, with a black mane and green eyes. They have a white diamond on their face and three socks, two on the front feet and one on the right hind. On their chest and shoulders are fluffy bay feathers, mostly down but suggesting bird heritage from James.

NOTE: Baby's will hatch into the James/Tahi family (including Comet and Pegasus) and will be encouraged to stay in Pegasus for their first week (by James) or so before being encouraged to explore (preferably with a family member) by Tahi! They will be taught to harness their fungal magic by their parents or if that isn't their thing, be taken to someone for tutoring (by James, though James can teach some physical combat, he was trained a bit by Eythan).

Personality: as a child, Gennie is a bit of an odd one. not antisocial but.. elusive. its hard to find her but she's never avoiding people on purpose. she's just never where they need her to be. she likes the forests of Pegasus, the plant-life and river are her friends and the lessers her neighbors. the little unicorn is often found talking to either herself or the river itself. it cant speak back, she knows this, but it brings her comfort when the judgement of others never does. she's kindhearted, but wary. she will give kindness to those who don't seek her harm and cold ignorance to those who do. she can seem a little self absorbed, often considering herself a higher being than most, though not because of power or might, but of purity and soul. she believes that others "hearts" are ugly, and that hers is of highest cleanliness. as an adult this doesn't change much. she grows a tad more self aware, trying to keep herself in check, at least. she's a hard worker and determined to reach her goals, and will help where she can if her help is accepted.
future plans: I'm thinking she could be some kind of crafts-woman, making jewelry and glitters out of the crystals in Gemini? she'd probably stick close to James for a good chunk of her life, but probably explore a bunch too. she'd likely find comfort in spending time with her other siblings as well!

the little foal lay in a clearing of the Pegasus forest. she lay by the river amongst the wildflowers and pebbles, humming a sweet song to herself. she spoke, after a moment. "strange, is it not, the way the water flows even when my eyes are closed? how things move on even when it knows I'm not there?" she spoke softly. she dipped her head into the water, rather hilariously from an outside perspective. she closed to her eyes, holding her breath, letting the water run through her hair. she barely noticed James calling out to her. her head rose from the current. "coming, renny!"

Personality:
Child: Cautious and quiet, Varik does not charge headfirst into anything. He tends to stick close to his parents and siblings, and dares not venture far from home on his own. He does not expect much from his company, happy just to sit in silence without reaching for meaningful interaction, as long as it means he is not on his own. If he is spoken to, however, he is inclined to natter on. His clinginess can be overwhelming at times, and he will learn with time to give others the space they need when they need it.
Adult: As he grows older, Varik gains a sense of confidence and vanity, thanks to his showy tail and iridescent feathers. He can be boastful and aloof at times, and can be oblivious to his effect on others. However, like his parents, he has a kind nature at heart, and means to do well by his peers, even if at other times he can rub them the wrong way. He can still be pushy with his companionship as an adult, although he is more selective with who speaks and spends time with, and is more reserved in conversation.
Future Plans: I'd like him to become more adventurous and confident when he's encouraged by Tahi into exploring, although he will push back initially because it will put him out of his comfort zone. I would think he would stay close to James/Tahi for a long time, therefore happily learning his magic, but as he grew into himself he would gain more independence and venture away from family eventually.
RP Sample: Varik opened an eye lazily, finally waking after a long sleep. It was exhausting being new in the world, with so much to learn and discover. Hardly a confident child, this was particularly tiring for Varik and he took frequent naps to collect his energy. Casting his gaze about himself, he jumped up with terror. He was alone. Where had everyone gone off to? He flung his head about in all directions, hoping to catch site of his family, but he was so anxious that he barely saw anything. By luck, however, he saw the form of James grazing down the slope, and he breathed a sigh of relief. Once he had calmed enough to regain control of his legs, he scurried down to his parent as quick as he could.
