Garnet-Delta had given him a really nice name. Diamond-Omega. But then it had also threatened his life a lot, so that wasn't nice. But what had it even been doing there, at that door? Just sitting, being boring, failing to play along. And for what?! How do you sit at doors all day, not accepting names, not taking orders-- couldn't it do ANYTHING interesting? Play along ONCE?! Take its name, go on an adventure with friends!

Now that Catafay thought about it... I mean, take a look at that most unfruitful encounter.

First... he'd been afraid. He'd been... petrified!
His alias, something about Wabblesmack... couldn't live without his maid by his side!
And then... he'd spent like fifteen minutes -- no, embellish -- a bunch of nights! About how it did him wrong.
Then he grew, um. Up? No, no! STRONG!
And he learned how to get along (kind of).
So now he's BACK! Wait what--
FROM JUST... THE CAVES!
He just walked in to find it hear with that sad look upon its face! What are you doing--
It should have left that stupid door, it should have killed him at the chance--
If it had known for just one second he'd be BACK to bother it!

Now to add some incredibly groovy, on-beat dancing.

Okay so the dancing was not nearly as cool as the singing and lyrics. Was Catafay trading out one for the other? Feet for words, and to have words and feet would he have to give up his good singing voice for the day?! Hm... maybe it took more than one person to make a song.

DANG IT NO!!! That was going to make him lonely again!!!! He didn't want to feel lonely again. Perhaps he could focus on dancing.. dancing dancing dancing!!! Wait but if he lost another thing he needed--

HE WOULD SIMPLY PRACTICE!!! Pickett the FABULOUS, FANTASTIC MUSICIAN would PRACTICE!!!!! Because dancing was fun and required little thought!

But that was just as bad!!! Oh no, what was happening?! Had Garnet-Delta now sucked all the fun out of his fun activity just by being in his BRAIN?! That was honestly an incredible level of boring unfun buzzkill.

...Catafay was now considering trying to seek out that level of boring. This was bad.

Maybe... splooshing. Oh, but give up on Pickett now?! Catafay himself actually really liked the dancening and singening.... maybe it didn't have to have lyrics or rhythm or any of that. Maybe Catafay just wanted to dance and make some noises! Goof time!! It was nice to have lyrics and rhythm, but they didn't always cooperate. Maybe when one of the Boos woke up, he could throw a party with them! That would be fun. He'd never been to a party with singening and dancening before.

When he was just dancening and singening for himself, Catafay seemed to do pretty well! No need for lyrics anymore, although he did like whatever song he'd just made about Garnet-Delta. Catafay twirled and bounded around on the grass, dancing along the river. At this point he was just humming. And he did feel rather alive.

How would be get better at dancing and singing -- become the best, even? Not just to play a role, but because he liked it! It was fun!! Well, about getting better... what was "better" anyways? Wasn't he the only judge here? A lonely thought, yes, but also an empowering one! Really the only judge he had to satisfy... was the great and incredible CATAFAY! And the word on the street was that the king was easily entertained.

Catafay wondered if King Catafay would be pleased... if it was even possible to splash... and dance. Was water dancing a plausible thing??

Hm. Well, based on the result -- the result being Catafay plopping into the water with a most pitiful plorp, then proceeding to not know what to do once in the water, then having to fumble back out -- it seemed like water dancing was not, in fact, a thing. Could be for someone else though! Maybe Pickett was someone else -- not him, not an alias in his bank.

Maybe Catafay needed someone else right now. Maybe he ought to stop procrastinating and go find somebody to mess with!!! Dancing and singing was fun... but Catafay needed people to dance and sing with clearly!

So off he would skedaddle. To find someone!
