He had picked his way across the broken, battered armor; paused to stare at the monsters carved into the walls of the tunnel. He had wondered, as he'd gone, what this place was, and more importantly, what it once had been.
He had made his way now to Monoceros, and gazed out at the vastness of it. It was unlike any of the caves he'd seen thus far in his journeys, and he was glad he'd made the trip: rather than greenery or dim light, shifting shadows or pouring water, this place was all heat, and light, and wind.
It was very hard for the Sentinel to see, in fact; and in order to better see the storm he could hear howling in its rage through the cave proper, he cast out his magic before him. His intent was to plunge as much as the cave into darkness as he could, the better to see it all with. But instead it was merely an area around him--admittedly wide, but a pool of dim shadow rather than an engulfing void.
Still, it was enough to more easily navigate by--though it left him somewhat more noticeable in the brightness of the cave.
The Sentinel began to move ahead, his lean frame propped up some by the halberd in one hand, the dark pocketwatch around his neck ticking quietly away.
