The Hyrbid stood tall near the little area the edenfolk had mostly considered camp. finding a slightly taller rock to sit on, just so people could hear him, he thought, for a moment, just on what to say.
days before this, james had, although briefly, mentioned something of a war raging withing the cave of ursa, one between many gembound and a force simply called "Mother". sheng himself didn't actually know what mother.. was, until james had also explained that to him, in his confusion. it seemed even forgraves had prior knowledge of this force, although mostly second-hand from his father. scary stuff, and really, sheng couldn't imagine the damage that might be done should the gembound... LOSE that fight. if its powerful enough to overtake several of them, then there wouldn't be much to stop it from infecting more of the caves, now would there? fear for his group, his daughter, Momma bolormaa now too, quickly welled up anytime the thought dared enter his mind.
the caves were open, and there were only so many places to hide before every cave and cranny was filled with scared gembound, likely not even then would they be safe, many of these spots being the bare minimum of protection and almost as open as the caves themselves in regards to ensuring a safe spot to rest.
so, sheng decided that, if his group's purpose was to help others, and advance in ways that benefited those around them, then why not do something about that?
as he gathered his words, he called out loudly and with pride, hoping his voice carried across enough of the cave to call some of his members and, maybe, even passerby. "EDENFOLK, PLEASE GATHER! we have much to discuss!"
Action.
Forgraves had quickly gathered his specs and flask as he heard sheng's call from across the cave, shuffling out of his make-shift hidey hole as fast as he could in order to get to the meeting. he needed to be here.
he admired sheng for this, even if they barely knew eachother. being willing to halt all other plans to help others was something he hadn't seen many gembound do in his lifetime, aside from himself and maybe even oliver. would oliver want to be here? he wouldn't know, but he didnt have to time to tell him. he needed to be there, and now.
he scrambled up beside sheng, a quiet apology for being slightly late, standing beside him. he knew what he was to say when gembound actually started arriving, if they did, but it didn't calm the nerves.
Another thing that could be somewhat beneficial to joining a group would be the news. Could she notice a clue to unveiling some secret or the like in a few passing words by someone else? Perhaps! It was far more likely the more someone-elses she was around, though. A slight drawback, but again, one that could be overcome.
Halo settled herself near the back of the gathering, content that she'd be able to hear everything, and almost more importantly spot anything from the reactions of any others around her. Could she spot someone hiding a secret? Who knew, but she would find it out!
Although he was no “Edenfolk,” East couldn’t resist following the intrigue of such an open broadcast of intentions. Silent and at ease, he played spectator, prepared to file away any dull or exciting moment. The only thing missing was a snack, snagging one a regretfully missed opportunity on the fly in. But no matter. Feeding his mind would be enough.
