ORIGIN

Ru shrugged. Yew was right, of course, but the creature also didn't think that Vargas was bloodthirsty. If he had no orders and Ru showed him respect, he wouldn't kill them. It would just be... frightening? No. Not frightening. Unsettling? Nerve-wracking? Upsetting? Ru paused, as if buffering for a moment -- blue eyes seemed to glaze over slightly as the creature's mind was occupied. Vexing? Daunting? Unpleasant? "Unpleasant," Ru repeated, out loud, and blinked a few times.

"Sorry. My mind wandered away from me." The creature paused, trying to recall what Yew had asked, and then Ru's eyes snapped over to her. It was an interesting question -- Ru had always ran. That was how the creature had survived. But...

"No." Ru frowned. "I have a choice now. It was given to me. I am not sure why I no longer have to run trials, but I think that something terrible must have happened. Everywhere I look, I see ruins and marks of war." Ru looked back to the mural. "One way or another... these people are not here any longer." Ru's ears drooped. "And I do not think they left."

Yew had no idea what Ru was thinking of when they said 'unpleasant' but she felt herself inclined to agree with whatever it was the creation was thinking about. At least, if it wasn't about herself anyway - Yew didn't think Ru found her unpleasant which was nice. At least Yew thought so. Maybe it had something to do with what they were talking about before? Was running unpleasant? Yew thought it was.... Horrifying would be the right word. No one deserved that.

"Its okay-y"

Yew listened to what Ru had to say, it was nice they had a choice. Still, so many others didn't from what Ru had been saying. Why let one survive when so many of them died? It didn't make much sense to the hybrid. Maybe why wasn't for the two of them to know. Or Vargas had plans and didn't mention them to Ru. Still, Yew would not be barging up to anyone to ask questions. It was too dangerous.

"You can surv-sur- live." For them? Is that what Yew should say? Ru looked so sad to think of all of their deaths. Did Ru have a friend in the past?
