I'll update this post with new questions as they come along. If you have any that you've asked yourself already or have just thought of for this list's sake: post! :) Or PM me, I don't care. These might get added to the guidebook in the future.
Is there weather in the cave?
There are small weather systems - or in the case of the Monoceros, large systems - which fluctuate throughout the cave. There are hot rooms, cold rooms, misty rooms, super windy rooms of death, and who knows what else - you've gotta explore to find out!
Are smaller species (rodents, smaller lizards, etc) allowed?
Not at this time. Smaller critters would be considered food for Gembounds, so most of the smaller species living within the cave are NPC / edible and without gems.
What do the Gembound creatures eat?
Carnivores can live off of the smaller critters such as rodents, lizards, and fish. They can also hunt any larger animals around which might be born without gems (or, to be terrifying but realistic, Gembounds too!). Herbivores have a wide array of things they can eat in various rooms. If carnivores choose, they can also buy a spell which allows them to digest plant matter and become vegetarians, since plants are in abundance.
Can Gembound creatures die?
Yes. If their gem is damaged then their life flow is cut off, so they'd die. If enough damage to their physical body occurs, then the body will die and potentially leave the gem behind.
What happens if the Gembound body dies but the crystal is left behind?
Then the gem can be infused with new magic, such as with the 'give magic' spell, and a new chrysalis will form. The new Gembound would essentially be a child again, and a mix of their previous species and the new (the 'parent' that added the magic). If this spell is not used, then the gem would become dormant, or would attract golems.
Can the attached stone be an ore like gold? Are there limits to size/shape?
It can be any precious gem, including various types of ore. There is at least one Gembound with a feldspar gem, and feldspar is a type of mineral - not a true 'gemstone' such as ruby or sapphire; however, this is allowed. Size and shape are left very open. You can only have one stone, which is internal or external, and it can break through the skin in the form of horns, tusks, or anything else you can imagine - replacing limbs, bones, major organs, and muscle groups.
Can we play extinct animals or dinosaurs?
No. Only animals which are currently alive at this very moment. If something went extinct last year that you wanted to play, we could discuss it, but something from prehistoric times would be a firm no.
Can we join quests that are already in progress?
Always! Quests are open to everyone, no matter who is already participating, and no matter what is going on in that moment. If you want to dive in, feel free!
