so. blacksmith talk done.
he didn't know what he expected, but he's here now. all he knows now, and what he has.
he doesn't know how many tries he has at this. if the stone doesn't shatter beneath his paws, he can try again later. it'll be okay. hopefully. and, hey, if he can't do it, he can convince someone better at magic to have a go.
setting the thulite down in the very back of his den, leaves, moss, flowers and other bedding lining the floor, and sighed heavily. he can do this. maybe not now, if it fails, but later. it'll just.. take a while.
he prepared himself for failure, and closed his eyes, placing a steady paw on the thulite, and tried his best.
he opened an eye, after a moment of mostly nothing. he looked down and, to his IMMENSE relief, it worked. he watched the thulite take root in the little bed he had made and he smiled brightly. he never imagined himself the father type but... he could try, yknow..?
The last creature to bear this stone was, at a glance, something like a giant bird: when standing angled on its hind legs as tall as it could (as one would expect a bird to do) it was about ten feet tall at the crown of its head. The feathers ranged from dark grey to black, giving it an appearance reminiscent of a charcoal drawing; there was absolutely no color on its body (bar the splash of pink offered by its gemstone).
This vision of monochrome was not, however, entirely bird-shaped. Instead, though the hind legs were certainly bird-like (something like a crow's, with curved claws that were not quite grasping talons), and the wings bird-like as well, the head was a bizarre thing. A long, prehensile trunk twisted out from between two huge, long gray tusks. Large, dark eyes were positioned like a corvid's, to either side of the head but facing more toward the front.
This creature was heavy-bodied, only barely capable of short flights. It had no tail to speak of.

He sighed happily. he didn't know what else to do, at this point... he might as well go to sleep, or go help the edenfolk more..?
he'd figure it out later. he was tired. he's sleeping now, and then he'll do something else later. right now, he wanted to be close.
curling up around the gem, he closed his eyes. he'd be here when it was time.
