Lights danced across the arena. A tiny figure flew into its center, the roar of the crowd drowned out by her cry: 'PEOPLE AND MONSTERS! WELCOME TO THE ONE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FOURTH... DEATHMAAAAATCH! YOU KNOW THE RULES: SAY UNCLE, OR DIE!' Out came the tiny t-shirt cannon, the glowing souvenirs fired haphazardly into the packed stands... and out came the two Valkhounds, barreling toward one another in the bloodstained dust.

DEATHMATCH is an arena elimination-style tournament event intended for Physical Combat-based characters. It is loud, brash, fun and violent: a no-holds-barred fighting ring with swearing, booze and popcorn, and souvenirs for those observing. Expect pit fights, shouting, brawling and blood. Observers are welcome to interfere (by ex. throwing things into the fighting ring), though magic is strictly forbidden.

Timeframe: This event will take place after the Ursa assault, and likely the second part of the Black City quest, are both completed. It is being tentatively announced now to give players time to prepare characters that they may wish to enter into the fights.

Rewards: Observers will get souvenir rewards and a special achievement. Competitors will get a different achievement, and likely a Technique unique to Arena participants. First, second and third places will get special prizes along the lines of (and these are subject to change):
- Oilstone with a guaranteed-revive GM-designed Valkhound to revive;
- Valkhound-Style Mutation with spines, extra eyes, acidic/toxic blood, glowing eyes/mucus membranes;
- Free Mutation Slot + full Corruption instantly granted via the Black Spire as a reward.

Risks: In short, player choice. The Deathmatch is dangerous, with no holds barred. Deaths here would be fun and add to the atmosphere, however, they are not required: characters may either tap out or, if truly defeated, simply return to their chrysalis to be dragged from the ring.
