"Excellent!" Edric beamed again. "I am ready, too." He did not blame Enoki for not liking the tunnel--most people didn't. The lack of Lesser Gembound wandering there was proof enough. But the ones who were brave enough to go to the Altar regardless... they were worthy. They would prove themselves to truly be Greater.
He mulled over Enoki's words about their element as he pushed himself to his feet. Fungus, was it? Seemed pretty useless, if you asked him. What in the world were you supposed to do with mushroom magic? As far as Edric knew, he had no element. He had never cast a spell in his life; there had simply been no need for it. "Doesn't matter too much," he said dismissively, almost as if he'd meant to reassure the koalyena. "You don't need magic anyway." And with that, he lumbered off, leading his new comrade to the Altar.
