Try and they might nothing came from their efforts. They thrashed and unleashed a hoarse bellow of a squawk, something quite pathetic in their tired and weary state. They needed help and yet there was nobody to lend aid. Where was their family? Where did they all go? What if-
A twig snapped, focus shifted and a new surge of energy rushed through them. Someone was here!
They stilled, as much as their excitement and hopeful outlook allowed. Legs shaking from the mix of nerves old and new, they craned their neck as much as they could, bending it haphazardly in an all too painful angle to try and look around. To see who was nearby, hoping to find a familiar face.
"Hello!? Hello!? Dad? Family?"
Big red eyes blinking, once twice, rapidly they stilled; beak agape. There was...no one?...Maybe- someone...new? Just out of view, maybe sent to help from the family?
"H-hello? Hello??"
They wait, beak agape in silence but nobody answers; but someone is watching. They knew when they were being watched, it's all their father did; a watchful and protective gaze. He didn't talk much but he never had too. But- but this...this gaze was wrong, it felt different. Felt like they were a spider- being gawked at by some big unknown as if they were an easy meal.
No, no, no!
Their father wouldn't leave them like that; alone and at the mercy of Cetus. They weren't just some quick meal for something else! They weren't a spider! But, but...they were alone- until...they weren't- something began to glow before them within the heavy mists. Bright white eyes and a flickering maw of flames ate at the very mist that kept all safe.
It wasn't family fire- but it was something else-they needed to leave, now, now, now now!
