It was not a teacher by any means. That was Chaos-two's job. Even Orthoclase-Alpha and Garnet-Delta were better teachers than it- those were the ones that had taught itself at all.
But it knew why it'd been assigned this specific task. It was one of the only aquatic members of the forge. It even looked similar to Vargas's newest creation- same oily black hide, same fins and same purpose. It would've been flattered in a strange way if this creation wasn't meant to be better than it at all things. Better at ambushing from the surf, and capable of ambushing from the skies as well. It's not a contest. We're all working for the same thing. Preserving the nest. Eventually they arrived at Pegasus's river. Labradorite noted the chaotic, almost violent current. Part of it was worried, but the other part considered it an apt challenge for it's trainee.
Well, it'd be a good idea to get a sense of what it'd already been taught. No point in reteaching it what it already knew. Subconsciously echoing the words said to it in one of it's first sessions, it looked down at the young valkhound "What do you already know about the water in the Caves? Where the rivers go, how the currents act..." It trailed off slightly before asking a completely different question, "...and fighting. Ambushing, from the water or the shadows.. What tactics would you use?"

It follows silently, eyeing the other member of the Forge up as the other moves. They may even consider this one a close friend, if they'd been given more time, weren't a soldier for someone else. Something else.
A question, though, is to get a response- they learned that quickly.
"Not much," it answers honestly.
"I've been in the home for most of the time, but I have seen this water from a distance." A snort, as they search for more words.
"I know I can swim. It calls me."
The second question gets a bit more consideration, and the younger Valkhound steps forward to let their toes rest at the edge of the river, and eyeing the oddly smooth areas of the water next to other, more obviously turbulent currents.
"Ambush. Silent, element of surprise. Blend in, and strike when the other is not looking, not knowing."
Again, not many tactics- they're still figuring out their body, and some more raw areas of their skin smarts from their own practicing of pouncing and low, fast movement.
"Both are good, depends on my target. Can't swim? Water. Drown them. Can? Shadows or skies. Cut them off from escape."
