he awoke. risen, and returned. reinvigorated, it had been a long while since ecthelon took to livelihood. within the heart, he'd remained -- since the crossing nearly took him, cleaved him from this life and pulled into the unknown. he'd slumbered, as though some preternatural being, an immortal lodged once more in a coffin of stone and satin. but risen, he was. and he'd eased his weight evenly upon each hoof, lifting himself from the bed of moss and sod. a snort, a twist of the ear: and quiet. a stillness had returned to the heart of cetus, though he'd known it to have become busier in the time since his disappearance into hermitage. his nostrils flared, though as he stood within the marsh he'd reached further, and from the air he'd plucked an awareness. faint, but there. something else disturbed the heart, something else was present within his marshy home.
there was the strangest feeling—like she had been found, without knowing she had ever been sought. it made the small furs along her nape stand on edge; she would t e a c h this being not to subjugate others to such horrific invasions. quietly, as felines so adeptly could, she stalked toward where those proverbial fingers reached, and upon arrival the cub, tiny and easily conquered, pulled from herself some small amount of liquid, attempting to sprint under him, a true bat out of hell in her wild, unhinged movements, for the water to spray where it would. how fortunate her bladder was full—she had plenty of liquid within to exhaust.
there, a burnished figure: small and insignificant, a flicker of life darted forward and beneath him. the pony, as one might find to be humourous had been caught unawares. his hoof lifted in fright, spooked by the sudden font of life, and a slick spray of moisture. from his lungs expelled a hasty exhale, forced through the nose in a frustrated snort. though instinct bade the beastly thing to flee, he remained still. a hoof stomped out beneath him -- in an attempt to spook the... whatever it was.
she was out of reach when the hoof went down, clopping against the ground heavily and echoing against the walls—she let out a loud hiss. what did you do! she shrieks hysterically, limbs splayed apart as she gripped the stony earth whilst her tail lashed discontentedly behind her. her wrath was nothing at all to fear so young, but she was infuriated, her mind i n v a d e d as they reached to her unseen! the bastard! damn you! she spits vitriolically, tongue flapping betwixt her lips ( do not touch me !!! )
