Astaroth grunted. He was far past his prime and he could tell. He had not died yet to be reborn and he did not intend to any time soon. He had things he still hadn't held to. Still needed to do. He tried to slumber back in his home in Canis to the next era but found he could not stay there any longer. His body had started to fail him, and he was being called back to the chrysalis. There was little he feared at this point, but ending this life without effect on these caves did not sit right with him. His unrest woke him, and led him here. I have become... ineffectual. he thought, a sound of disgust escaping his throat. Perhaps... if I found a younger gem. Impressionable. Not like that witch Reseda....

Hmm. She still didn't like being here. Six Stripes had not exactly succeeded in reassuring her that his lesser cult was neither evil nor a cult. But if she ran into one of them again, maybe she could actually
ask where the tunnel of moving vines was supposed to be. She still hadn't run into any so far.
Well...
There was the fiery tunnel, she supposed. And the snowy tunnel. There might possibly be more tunnels beyond them. But come
on. Both seemed so inhospitable. Surely there wouldn't be any kind of green paradise beyond them, right? They weren't even worth thinking about.
Mosaic huffed, looking around the cave for the seventh time in the last minute. As if she looked enough, a stupid giant lesser would just
appear in front of her and GIVE HER THE MISSING INFORMATION ALREADY. Nothing and no one of note.
Figures.
